This is a thread for all of the midseason replacements and back half premieres.

Did anyone catch the premiere of CBS' Golden Boy? A hot shot cop rises to the top of the ranks of the NYPD in 7 years. Basically present day stories are told via flashbacks from the now chief of the NYPD. Co-starring Chi McBride.

Not really sure how I felt about the premiere. I like the premise, it's a good spin on traditional police procedural. But my god I really hate the lead character. I know we are supposed to view him as a bit of an anti-hero but he actually comes off as a terrible person. I'll give it a couple more episodes, but that may be it for me.

I checked out Zero Hour and thought the pilot was very dull. Not surprised to see it cancelled after only 3 episodes.

Monday mornings on TNT has been surprisingly entertaining for me. This and The Following have been my two go-to shows during the week now since all of my other shows have been moved to sundays.

It took me 3 tries to get through the Golden Boy pilot, and I kind of liked it despite the fact that the main character is a fairly big douche.

I'm a bit curious about Red Widow but there's zero chance I have enough time to watch a 1.5 hour pilot in the near future.

How did The Mindy Project get renewed exactly? It's getting NBC level ratings on FOX.

That wasn't a commentary of the quality of the show, it's an objective fact that the ratings for it are bad.

Looking forward to new episodes of Grimm. I've become strangely addicted to that show.

i don't even remember what happened last on Grimm, it's been off for so long. NBC will continue to see a dive in ratings for this and Revolution.

Funny with NBC they did great in the Fall and then the NFL, The Voice, Revolution, Grimm all went on hiatus and now they are getting smoked again, back to 4th in the network tv battle.

I liked Touch, but it was a mid season show last year and was given the worst spot for a show on the networks, 9 on Fridays

Zero Hour was cancelled.
The Job cancelled
Golden Boy will probably get cancelled

NBC once again will have the most slots to fill in their lineup, The Office and 30 Rock already done, 1600 Penn probably getting the axe, actually it would be easier to say what will come back.

the Voice, NFL Sunday Night, Parenthood, Chicago Fire, Parks and Rec, The Biggest Loser, and the Celebrity Apprentice. The rest of their lineup is iffy to be renewed.

NBC is notorious for taking too long of extended breaks mid-season. Never fails, they always come back and the ratings plummet because people move on from the show. It's exactly what they did with The Event and I knew when I saw Revolution had a long break that it would fall victim as well.

Grimm I'm still looking forward to. Definitely going to have to watch the "Previously On" part to make sure I remember exactly where we left off.

CBS supports their new shows a lot more than any other network. They've given it a good slot (Tuesday 10) to get a following before moving it to Fridays to open for Blue Bloods, a show with a small but dedicated following. I have a feeling Golden Boy will stick around.

Grimm, thankfully, has settled into it's Friday role and makes consistent numbers. Small, but probably the most consistent 1 hour show NBC has.

CBS does support their shows more but they still cancel underperforming shows, like the Partners, The Job (A reality show that probably had low production costs), Made in Jersey.

It really comes down to production costs and how much the studio that makes the show charges for their show to air on that network, versus how much ad revenue and ratings the show gets.

I do not disagree, but you can't make that case for Golden Boy this early. that's all i'm saying.

Sucks that NBC can't get their shit together. I enjoy shows on this network (and Fox) more than ABC & CBS. I guess once The Office is done & Community is finally cancelled, I won't have much else to watch other than Parks & Rec and Celebrity Apprentice (and possibly Revolution if it survives). Fox seems to be the network I watch the most shows on.

^No it couldn't have, and you are dumb for saying that.

^^^Didn't The Rememberer (aka Unforgettable) get cancelled with better ratings than Golden Boy in that same time slot?

I read something about that, but I must have ignored it assuming it was one of the 50 fake "show x is uncancelled" stories Deadline runs.

The real question is how long until ABC announces Happy Endings is dead?

honestly, i'll be more upset about that cancellation than i will be about Community.

just to go back to the Golden Boy discussion, i wasn't aware the premiere ratings were that terrible. i just assumed we were jumping the gun. but it appears it may be joining Vegas on the chopping block.

^^Yes!! I had no interest in it and didn't watch it at first, but my friend told me to get on it, and it is so fantastic.

The stories aren't wildly original, but the characters are just so lush and full. I love it.

you know, I completely forgot about Bobby Cobb. and Cougar Town is one of my favorite shows. But I think that's because they don't address the Bobby/Jules all that often.

They don't hit on it as much anymore, but the season they her and Grayson were getting together it was in the forefront. Like when Bobby had his guidebook to Jules and gave it to Grayson. It's not as bad now that they're married and Bobby is dating again.

the fact that they were married and how this new relationship would effect Bobby was a definite story arch. But they've never written Bobby as someone who is constantly trying to win Jules back. That's mainly what I was getting at.

If you are watching Hannibal make sure you that you watch the videos in the link before tonight's 5th episode.

Episode 4 was pulled bc of the marathon bombings. These videos are scenes from that episode to advance the long arc story.
