Did any of you watch the first season?

I typically hate realty shows, but thought this one was funny to watch.

I enjoyed it, but I thoroughly despise the final outcome. Seriously, this should have been handled more objectively.

Yeah I thought that was dumb. I couldn't stand genevieve but it sucks that she won three of the nerd-offs and still lost the whole thing.

I watched, thought it was somewhere between pretty good and decent!

If they don't expand and make improvements for the second season, it will probably tire quickly.

RE: celeste/nerd-offs, putting yourself in a position to not fight for your life speaks for something. one could say that the SOTFO thought Genevieve was perceived too much of a threat, and the reason she was in 3 nerd offs, but on the flip side of the same coin, you could say that Blextrophy thought Celeste was too valuable to put in a nerd off. eh

^^^ I was really pulling for Ivan, but I would have rather seen Genevieve win it than Celeste. I mean, seriously, Celeste didn't do much of anything at all during the whole competition. It did really annoy me that Genevieve led her team and survived 3 eliminations only to be outvoted in the end. I hope that in the next season there's better management of the endgame.

And is it just me, or did Bobby Carradine not exactly carry any weight as co-host of the show? Curtis Armstrong took the ball and just ran all over the place with it, and I think he did a truly great job.

HA, I thought the same thing. He was there to laugh at Curtis from time to time.

I'm wondering if the show was supposed to have more episodes? The last just seemed so...sudden.

To have Ivan lose on a segway challenge, and then the winner just be voted on seemed out of line with the rest.

Besides, wasn't the point of the very first episode to show if you don't get "picked" you are the nerdiest of them all? Which was a good thing?

real bummer Mary Kate is gone now. i really liked her; i felt she was like a normal nerd as opposed to an uber nerd like some of the other people on the show (ie asshat Zack). plus i enjoyed looking at her too

Yeah like delusions of grandeur and megalomania. It's going to be truly funny when he finally gets knocked out (hopefully...), because you know now that everybody has got to be gunning for him.

there is definitely something wrong with Zack. like mentally wrong that he acts the way he does. there's no doubt he's smart and all but his wiring is crossed pretty bad.

yeah it sucks that Mary Kate is gone. both her and Chris are probably the two most normal people (from both seasons)

I wished they would have shown more of the LARPing. I bet it didn't need much editing to be funny/awkward, but they did way too many "cut away interview" moments, which interrupted each performance IMO.

I think they should give this show less of the "reality" treatment. it needs some of that to stay interesting, but in a show for nerds, about nerds and by nerds, you'd think they invest more into the nuts and bolts of the show. i.e. showing more of the competitions, showing how the contestants are deriving some of their "content". instead, it's heavier on the drama aspects.

- for example, show how they made their costumes for the LARP
- have a sidebar during the battle hammer game showing the progression of moves and tactics
- show how the teams determined which materials to use for the volcanoes
- use geeky infographics during the alien anatomy comp, and use it as an educational opportunity

agree 100% regarding some of your points. i would have loved to see more conversations about strategy when it came to the Battle Hammer game. there was a few snippets but not enough to satisfy what i was looking for.

I agree. I wonder exactly how clear of a picture the audience is getting of (as example) Zack thanks to creative studio editing and post production. I guess there's only so much which can be crammed into an hour, though. I've wondered how much time passes between events. A full week? A few days? I figure this was probably shot a little while back, so the results are already locked in.

Bobby Carradine really doesn't do much on the show... He just seems out of place.

They are trying to hard to follow other reality shows by showing and creating this drama, when the people that want to watch are more interested in the events and tasks. And that "board game" was horrible.

Oh, and as crappy as this day was, I still got to enjoy my delicious Little Caesar's Pizza.
