Those are actually really solid machines . . . well built and durable and a good size for carrying around.

Unfortunately its the lowest end configuration. $100 is actually a really fair offer (I generally list them for $120 on Craigslist) The only way it would be worth $200 is if it had the 1440x900 screen and upgraded graphics, a larger HD, AND a better processor.

FYI upgrading it to a Core 2 Duo is only maybe a 15 minute job if you have one around.

Fair enough. I looked at craigslist a while back and while things were all over the place (configs and prices), I generally saw $150-$250 so I just went in the middle. I just looked on there again and I'm seeing $125-$225.

^^ok, PM sent.

unfortunately with a core duo you're stuck in the 32bit OS world. I have one as well that's just not worth selling because of this

5^who needs 64 bit for a browsing/email machine?
4^if you are looking to use it to browse/email/etc. it will be fine. It can also do basic office type applications, as long as you aren't dealing with massive DBs or complex Excel sheets (well, it will do those, just slowly compared to a new computer).

Since it was asked via PM:

This machine still runs well, for a 7-8 year old laptop. It did tend to eat up RAM when I had W7 on it; however, I didn't have this problem with XP on it. Most of the major components were replaced at one point (I use and abuse computer warranties well). I don't remember when the individual parts were replaced with OEM parts, but I'd say most are 4-6 years old. This includes: HDD (this is actually around 2-3 years old I think), LCD display, Keyboard, Motherboard, RAM, Fan, Lower assembly case, and Wireless Card.

my browsing habits require a system with a lot more than 3gb of ram, thus needing 64bit

moron: not at the moment. Actually sold one a few weeks ago for $100, but that was since it was a friend.

wdprice3: if the people here don't take it just toss it up on Craigslist, they go pretty fast.

^yeh, I've got it on craigslist, but no bites yet... though it may be because my asking price to begin with was too high ($200)... I edited the ad, but it still shows up as $200 in the search results (shows up at $125 if you click on the ad link).

^^^ I have anywhere from 30-200 tabs open at a time, depending on what I'm working on and how much I need to look up

^^highest bidder. I've been offered $100. May have someone at $120, per ^. $75 is not a winning bid thus far.

I can't believe no one has snapped that up for $125 on CL. Maybe because you aren't including pirated windows 7 and office 2010

haha, I'm not into pirating software; my W7 already has too many installations and I'm using both of my Office 2010 keys.

I'll go ahead and put XP Pro and Office 2007 on it.

not yet; though I have a few emails from CL for $100. Guess it will go to one of them, unless someone here wants it for $100 (I don't like talking to CL people... makes me feely icky).
