we did a 6 man snake draft for all for majors. i got 4th pick might not have anybody playing this weekend haha

1st Louis Oosthuizen
2nd Brandt snedeker
3rd Bubba Watson
4th Hunter Mahan

$100 and you can buy a new golfer for $5.

the guy has a excel sheet that is based on Four Ball/Better Ball so you take the best score for each hole out of your 4 golfers. should be interesting.

I can't believe Phil hit 15 of 18 greens and made 5 birdies. It seemed like he was all over the park off the tee today.

I would definitely like to see DJ hang around until Sunday as well. He was close at Whistling Straits a couple years ago until he grounded his club in that waste bunker that knocked him out of the playoff.

Also, if you aren't pulling for Guan, you're a bad guy. It's so awesome that a 14 year old kid is out there getting it done hitting hybrids in where other guys are pulling 8 irons. I hope he can make it to the weekend. He sounds very humble and grounded in the few interviews I've seen with him.

I'm not sold on Guan yet

I am happy that Couples is hanging around the top of the leaderboard after the first day. And I'm rooting for Tiger to win it all, I have yet to find a better day in sports than Sunday at the Masters when Tiger is at the top of his game

Boy, Johnson really stunk up the back 9. I think the shot in the water on 15 really messed with his head.

2 shot penalty but no DQ.

Confusing since be DID then sign a bad scorecard.

I'm glad he's still in it for more drama but I can't figure out how he can continue after signing a bad scorecard. Apparently rule 33-7 gives the committee discretion to not disqualify.

Also it's a dumb rule. If you drop it farther back there shouldn't be an issue. Now if you drop closer there should be an issue.

rules committee made a major mistake IMO. The 33-7 rule is for instances where a penalty is noticed because of new technology like super slo-mo hi def cameras and there is no way the player could have reasonably known a penalty occurred. It is not applicable when a rule is violated due to ignorance of the rules. Tiger should have known the rule. He should be dq'd. Glad he wasn't though

Rule 33-7 states that if the penalty is brought to your attention after the fact, then it is only a 2-shot penalty.

So in that regard, they made the correct ruling on the issue.

Noone said anything to Tiger when he was actually making the drop. Officials are there to watch you when you make a drop, so if it was illegal, someone should have said something right then and there.

Did Tiger know he was willingly breaking the rule? Only Tiger knows that.

^Didn't know that. Thanks.

That is ridiculous, then. Do they just depend on the players to police themselves? They need walking officials.

What's not to understand? The rule states he is supposed to drop the ball as close as possible. He openly admitted he intentionally did not do that in his post round interview.

Also it was about 6 feet behind, not 2.

Playing the tournament setup? Or the members' tees?

I fluctuate between a 4-6 handicap on my home course. I'm not a bomber, but I'm always in play and use good course management to post numbers.

That being said, I'd probably shoot somewhere between 85-90 on the tournament setup just due to the length alone. Hitting long irons and hybrids into some of these greens would lead to more trouble around the green complexes and more missed greens.

On the members setup I feel like I could shoot 80-82 and even better if I got some rounds in and got familiar with the course.

^^ I think the greens alone could add 5-10 strokes for most amateurs
