Well, there are a lot of good endings, but I will call off a rather obscure ending with I thought was great. I am not saying it is one of the best but I liked it a lot. The game is Killer7.

no final boss, just a single shot. if you blink, the single shot happens fast enough to miss any dialogue, which was the case for me. let me add the new deus ex to the list as well. when the game devolves to zombies, it's a wrap.

The true ending of Bubble Bobble on the NES (beating with 2 player). I have never cracked up laughing so hard at the ending of a game.

World Cup on NES, rising the national flag. Winning with the worst team, USA, is well worth the effort see the Stars and Stripes hoisted up.

But in all seriousness, FF10 (shocking and sad), assassins creed 2 (complete mindfuck)

MGS3 was pretty good. Uhhhh, I dunno, Starcraft I guess. Most video games, even great ones, have shitty endings.

Oh yeah, the Infinity Engine RPGs all had pretty good endings.

Sorry, gotta add Shadow of the Colossus. One of the best games no one's played and it does have an amazing ending.
