I have a very brand new one and it is not very responsive. The other targus i have had have all been super responsive, but this one is not.

I can't take it back because it was a gift and I don't know where it came from so I would like to repair it if possible.

I know very little about how they work.

Do they simply conduct a weak electrical signal through the body of the stylus forming a circuit for my skin's own electrical potential to pass through?

Or do they work by bridging charged conductive material embedded in the surface of the ipod/pad ect screen?

In my googling adventures I have read things that lead me to believe the former to be true, but I can use this stylus with osha non-conductive work gloves on, so i am confused.

Could I treat the body of the stylus somehow to improve conductivity?

And if that does not work is there a way to "rejuvenate" the conductive rubber tip?

Are you using it on a resistive or capacitive screen?
