So with a slew of shows cancelled and renewed, we are also getting upfronts this week, where we get our peak at shows for next fall. The following is a link to trailers and brief description of the show sorted by network and starting with FOX.

FOX

Quote :
"Dads - Comedy

Dads is an upcoming American sitcom due to be broadcast as part of the 2013–14 United States network television schedule on Fox. The series was created by Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, and follows Warner and Eli, two successful video game developers whose lives are unexpectedly changed when their fathers move in with them. Starring Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi.

My take: Ugh. I like Seth Green and Giovanni as actors, but I'm not digging this one. Seems pretty 2.5 Men to me. Maybe it will be better, but I am not excited.

"Us & Them - Comedy

This show stars Alexis Bledel and Jason Ritter in a remake of a British show and focuses on the key life moments for their characters Gavin and Stacey, who try to maintain their relationship while combining their polarizing families' lives. She is from rural Pennsylvania and he is from NYC.

My take: Not bad for a romantic comedy. I chuckled several times during the trailer and like Jason Ritter. I will probably give this a chance.

"Sleepy Hollow - Drama

From Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horsemen awake in the present. Cast includes John Cho and Orlando Jones.

My take: Looks interesting, but I do not know how many episodes they can pull from just the Headless Horseman storyline. Might be a nice catch, but I don't know where they can go with the story. Seems to be a bit like New Amsterdam meets Grimm. I liked both so I will put this on my list to check out.

"Rake - Drama

An American remake of an Australian TV show starring Greg Kinnear as a self-destructive, but brilliant, criminal defense lawyer.

My take: Looks like it could be funny, but not sure if its something I am interested enough to watch.

"Almost Human - Science Fiction Drama

J.J Abrams scifi procedural drama. Cops are paired with androids 35 years in the future. One cop with an attitude who hates robots is paired with an experimental model with "feelings". Stars Karl Ubran and Michael Ealy. From the guys who gave us Fringe.

Kinda interesting, but do I need to watch another procedural crime drama? At least it is something different and not the usual procedural BS. Might give it a shot purely for the scifi aspect.

Quote :
"Enlisted - Comedy

Centers on Sgt. Pete Waits who, after a stint in Afghanistan, is stationed at a small military base in Florida to tackle the toughest job of them all leading his dysfunctional brothers' squad.

Eh. Looks like Stripes and Major Payne made a TV show. I don't expect much with this one, though I may watch the pilot. Maybe.

Quote :
"[b]Brooklyn Nine-Nine[b] - Comedy

A procedural comedy. Stars Andy Samberg, Terry Crews, Joe Lo Truglio & Andre Braugher. New captain played by Andre takes over the "interesting" precinct. Their best detective is played by Andy Samberg who is also the class clown.

Looks like it could be funny. Totally different direction for the procedural show from Almost Human, take a comedy bent. Eh. Might keep on my radar, but dunno if I will actually bother to watch it, even though I really liked Andre Braugher in Last Resort.

I love the Australian show and Kinnear seems like he could be a good fit for the role. Not sure it will translate well though.
