These people are running the most powerful (and "best") country in the world?
And you know what else is ironic (and sickening)? When the same people and their fellow citizens deride, for example, Muslims for being sex-crazed and thinking of 70 virgins when they blow themselves up.
What a sick and twisted world we live in... without even considering the coverups, which are totally at another level of twistedness.6/12/2013 9:23:14 AM |

I'm having a hard time finding similarities between people that hire prostitutes for sex with Muslim extremists that stone women to death after raping them against their will, that cut off women's clitorises, and sew shut pre-teen girls' vaginas.

Sex outside marriage is sinful and despite liberals supporting gay rights, selling sex is just sinful and wrong!!! 6/13/2013 12:31:22 AM |

In my opinion, the biggest issue here isn't that these things happen but that someone within the State Department is actively discouraging DSS Agents from investigating these matters. No one should be above being investigated for major security violations and/or criminal wrongdoing, regardless of their position in the organization.
Frankly, a few members of SD banging some hookers while off duty in some third world hell hole (or first world for that matter) bothers me the least out of these allegations. 6/15/2013 9:27:11 AM |

so it doesn't bother you that US government employees might be contributing to sexual slavery around the world? you know, a lot of prostitutes in the world are trafficked women and children who have been coerced into it and are held by threat of injury/death. 6/15/2013 9:33:57 AM |

Oh I'm very well aware that many in the sex trade a trafficked people. Nowhere did I say that I don't care about these agents contributing to this trade, particularly when they represent an agency that spends considerable resources combating trafficking in persons. I simply don't find the solicitation of prostitutes by a few relatively low level agents to be the BIGGEST issue in all of this.
The State Department is a very large agency made up of tens of thousands of people. Within that group, people are going to do some very stupid things (criminal, security, and acts that go against US foreign policy). I find it FAR more disturbing that upon uncovering these acts, DSS agents were instructed by senior officials NOT to pursue investigations. 6/15/2013 12:47:18 PM |
