I watched it regularly for awhile, but then they had a couple weeks break in the show, started watching sherlock, got caught up with that one, and now i haven't bothered going back to follow elementary.

It's really not any different from a regular cop show. They rarely even have deductionary breakthroughs or think ahead enough to really make their machinations seem like a real life chess game.

Too often Watson stumbles across some new piece of evidence that solves the case for them, which is a bit bland in my opinion.

He's basically a regular cop who knows a lot of stuff.
