My PC could definitely use some TLC. The video card and hard drive are both malfunctioning I believe. If anyone here could help me out I'd appreciate it. 7/22/2013 10:51:40 AM |

that's going to be an agp video card and ide hard drive, things no longer made. you could get a more powerful modern machine for ~$150. 7/22/2013 11:19:05 AM |

the more powerful machines that smoothcrim is referring to are so old that most people tend to throw them out rather than try to sell.
haha is this yours?

That was a relatively nice machine in its day. Its day was probably 8 or 9 years ago. (The RAM is reading as 3.25 GB due to the upper limit in XP and 32-bit versions of Vista/Win7).
I'd be wary of trying to buy a PC on the cheap from Craigslist. Never really know what you're getting at that price point. I'd check with someone like fregac who gets a lot of off-lease business computers if you want to go used, or pony up around $500 and get yourself a basic new PC.

if your existing PC does what you want/need, then you don't need to spend more than $350 for a new tower...check out slickdeals on a regular basis (keyword "desktop" should get you what you want)...you can probably find some scratch and dent stuff for $200 or so, but you'll find plenty of options at $350
throw your computer up on CL for $50 and be done with it
it's truly not worth trying to fix anything on it...though if you insist, you can get an AGP card for $35 after rebate and shipping: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130452
i might have an IDE hard drive laying around that you can have, but no promises
