Nismo GTR to do 60 in 2 seconds. At least, that's what an insider apparently said.
http://www.worldcarfans.com/113073160902/nissan-gt-r-nismo-to-do-0-60-mph-in-an-unbelievable-20s
I highly doubt it. Decreasing the weight a bit and increasing the power a bit can't take you from 2.7 to 2.0. At those levels of performance when, the weight would need to be decreased by several hundred pounds and/or the power would need to be increased by several hundred hp to achieve a drop from 2.7 to 2.0. 7/31/2013 4:54:43 PM |

my former boss is Japanese and used to do circuit racing in his R33 GT-R back when he was living in Japan. He told me that a lot of Japanese enthusiasts have similar feelings toward the R35 that a lot of us do here: it puts up good numbers but it's not a "real GT-R" so to speak 7/31/2013 9:54:08 PM |

1,400+ bhp Nissan GT-R Switzer Goliath
1 mile in 22.2 s @ 400 km/h (248 mph)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQeRsz2uxJE
Considering that it did the 1/4 mile in 9.4 s @ 165 mph and the car in the OP managed the 1/4 mile in 7.98 s @ 186 mph, it should reach 400 km/h a few seconds earlier than the 22.2 s posted by the Goliath?
They need to run that AMS Alpha Omega for a whole mile.
(for a comparison, the Veyron SuperSport needs about 50 s for 0-400 km/h) 10/18/2013 6:29:35 PM |

Step 1 delete cats Step 2 beef up injectors and fuel pump Step 3 tune for e85 Step 4 have ten second car that all you have to do is point set launch control and floor it. 10/24/2013 11:27:10 AM |

So the new 2014 GTR - Nismo has been released very recently...
600 hp!
Most powerful factory GTR yet.
Lapped the Nurburgring in 7:09, which makes it the 2nd fastest car around the circuit (excl. superlights)... crazy to think that it is some 15-16 seconds quicker than the previous GTR record (2011), and also 15-16 seconds quicker than the Enzo and Zonda 11/26/2013 11:18:50 AM |

and a few other things.

record Nurburgring times don't mean anything because there is no regulatory body controlling them and checking how stock cars are, managing track conditions, controlling or verifying timing, etc... 11/26/2013 12:59:55 PM |

Well exactly, except Nissan claims it's a stock vehicle. 11/26/2013 1:07:56 PM |
0EPII1 All American 42541 Posts user info edit post |
^^ yeah i know, but the records i am talking about are of stock vehicles (yes, i know, there is no independent verification). plus, when the manufacturers themselves do the run, they keep doing it till they can get the best out of the car. but, a lot of the runs are done by car magazines (they use former race car drivers or journos) though, so in such cases, there is no incentive to keep repeating till they get the best time.

^^ I actually agreed with you in my post. However, I wouldn't say they are completely meaningless, because that's just silly. If nothing else, you can compare all cars tested by the German magazine Auto und Sport (?) because they were all done by one person, the editor-in-chief. And there is loads of them. Click the link, it lists who did the test. (Yes I know there are many other variables, chief among which is the weather and road wetness) 11/27/2013 4:34:23 AM |

We can now say it again - this is the world's quickest and most powerful Nissan R35 GT-R! We are talking about the AMS Performance Alpha Omega GT-R that now makes the 0-60 mph sprint in 1.72 seconds!
But that's not all - the AMS flagship 2000+ HP GT-R needs only 7.984 seconds to perform the quarter mile run at 186 mph (299.33 km/h) on the finish line. Eight months ago the car was able to do a 9.447-second 1/4 run at 161.62 mph (260.11 km/h).
Want more? 60-130 mph in 2.67 seconds and 100-150 mph in 2.42 seconds.
