Any recommendations for a small clock to replace the display clock on a cable box? Just removed 3 digital boxes from the house and now we never know what the time is in any room.
Not finding anything that is simple & similar. Lithium powered preferred but AA/AAA works as well. 8/4/2013 11:13:34 AM |

i never think about it, but if i got rid of my cable boxes, i would have to walk all the way to the kitchen to look at the microwave whenever i wanted to know the time

It is seriously the only form of clock we had in our living room, bedroom, and game room
Just a little battery powered 3 inch green-numbered digital clock.... impossible to find

we had the same problem. i got this at ikea, except mine is black. it's not backlit or anything though. it does wedge nicely between the satellite box & receiver. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80154550/

Light up display and battery powered is a difficult mix to achieve due to battery consumption. Vacuum florescent and even LEDs are not as energy efficient as LCD, but LCDs rely on reflective light or backlight while the first two emit their own light.
If it's in the living room and you don't mind clapping your hands every time you check the time, this fits the bill:

THis one has a DC adapter and doesnt require clapping when plugged in http://www.amazon.com/GREENWON-Rectangular-Digital-Temperature-Activated/dp/B0096QG31Y/ref=pd_sim_hg_6
