Any new stuff out that's legit?

Plowed through most of Maron's to date.

Really like How Did This Get Made? ( Andre and Raffi from The League make fun of shitty movies)

The Jeff Garlin interview podcast is awesome too.

I listened to Marc Maron on a grantland podcast and wanted to kill myself. i don't get why people dig him. plus it seems like he came up being a complete dick, so that was all the time I'm gonna waste on him

HBR Ideacast
Ted Talks Business
Freakonomics
EconTalk
Star Talk
Grantland Pop Culture (not all of them - don't give a shit about reality TV so I skip The Right Reasons)
BS Report
The Footprint
Grantland Sports
The Solid Verbal
The Stewart Mandel Podcast
Eye on CFB
ESPNU College Football

those last two will make you lose faith in sports journalism real fast sometimes. CBS's Eye is especially putrid at times.

Sometimes Riddick & Reynolds and GT Athletics

awww - you're incapable of existing outside of one vertical

how sad for you

perhaps you should look at my full list. most of those podcasts at the bottom only really exist for 4 months a year.

and sports has nothing to do with identifying a miserable prick of a guy.

offhand note-- Radiolab is popular as hell, and most people who like TAL also like radiolab. I've tried listening to several radiolab podcasts, but they all bore the shit out of me. yet, I'm a huge fan of TAL.

Other than those, I listen to
Riddick and Reynolds Podcast
Joe Rogan Experience (sometimes.. he can get a little conspiratardish sometimes)
HBR Ideacast
Manager Tools

i've listened to others here and there, but few have made me want to subscribe.

It's not just Paul and Jason. June (from NTSF:SD:SUV:: and Burning Love) is a fuckin' integral part of that show.

If you like bad movie podcasts, check out We Hate Movies and The Flop House.

I also subscribe to The TED Radio Hour and Fat Man on Batman (Kevin Smith's Batman podcast).

For a while, Norm MacDonald had a pretty incredible podcast run.

This is fairly indicative of it: http://youtu.be/HtvtzVJjk1I

Needless to say, profilic podcast sponsor ManGrate dropped him after this bit.

Billy Bob Thorton was a particularly strong episode.

I don't understand this medium. How do you have so much time to listen to this shit? How and where do you find it, let alone keep track of some of those absurdly long lists.

i do a lot of driving so that's a great time to listen. i don't really like listening to much on the radio anyways, so it's my replacement for that. might put on a podcast when i'm getting ready in the morning instead of having the tv on in the background. keeping up with the lists of shows is very easy...all the shows are within an app that automatically updates and refreshes as new episodes are added. so there's no "keeping up" to do other than listening to the episodes.

some shows require listening to in a timely fashion - for me, there's a couple college football podcasts i like and they each put out 2 episodes/week during the season (one ep recaps the previous week, one ep previews the upcoming week of games). but outside of the season they put out new episodes at much slower pace. so while i make an effort to listen to the new episodes during the season and stay current on them, there are other shows where i don't have to stay current...the content and topics in some shows are just as interesting/useful if i listen the day it comes out or two months after the episode comes out.

podcasts, like anything, aren't for everybody. and the sheer amount of podcasts available is overwhelming. but if you spend much time driving then it's not hard to find time to listen to several hours/week. you can pretty much curate it however you want. some shows come out with episodes daily. other shows may have one episode/month. some shows may do "seasons" so they take time off like a tv show. it can certainly be a never-ending stream of episodes backing up on each other. but it doesn't have to be.

I listened more often when I would walk my dog. Now, its not as often, maybe on long car rides by myself. I can't listen at work because I can't pay attention and do work at the same time.
