NC State is only school in nation with 3 starting NFL QBs.

Mike Glennon named Bucs' starter
Philip Rivers starting for 10th season
Russell Wilson for second

Can anyone think if this has happened recently in the NFL. Could this be a good recruiting tool for Coach D?

Pretty impressive even though we didnt get very much mileage in terms of our record except the Gator Bowl and a 4th place parade

this has me thinking... would be interesting to do a two deep roster (every position) for various college teams and see how they compare

Quick, someone add us to this list :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quarterback_U

We are NC State, not going to get credit for anything. All 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL could be from State and it would still be further down the headlines than VT new helmet design.

^I like how USC is listed there, but rather than mention guys like Palmer or Leinart or Barkley, all they have on that whole page is

Quote :
"After the 2008 season, The Los Angeles Times claimed that USC, more traditionally known as "Tailback U", was the school most deserving of the designation."

We don't have the TEs, FB, OL, DT, or WRs to make a full 2-deep. Really can't go 2-deep at CB, only have Amerson and Wilson at this point. We have plenty of options at QB, LB, and S though, haha.

^By Wilson, I meant CJ Wilson who plays for the Bears. Wolff would be at S, and if we don't count A. Wilson, I think Bishop is on a practice squad.

Yeah we have 2 C's and a G, but not OT's left in the league. We have Sweezy, Larsen, and Harris for the OL.

Only DT we have is Kuhn.
No TE's.
No FB's.
1 RB.
3 WRs(if you count T. Palmer who I believe is on a practice squad)
No punter.

We could fill-out a D if we run a 3-4 though and stick Kuhn in the middle with Mario and Willie on the ends. But still wouldn't have any back-ups.

              Wolff Wilson

Lawson Tulloch Irving Cole

Mario Kuhn Willie

Willie young would not be a good 3-4 defensive end. obviously the nc state all-stars would have to play a 4-3 alignment.

The last two times it happened it was Purdue.

2011: Drew Brees, Kyle Orton, Matt Painter

some week in the late 1980s: Jim Everett, Mark Herrmann, Scott Campbell

http://www.purduesports.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/craddle-of-quarterbacks.html

Quote :
"Fifteen former Purdue signal-callers have gone on to play in the National Football League, accumulating more starts and throwing for more yards than those from any other school.

And with Drew Brees joining Len Dawson and Bob Griese as Super Bowl champion quarterbacks, Purdue is one of just two universities that can claim three Super Bowl champs at the position. (The other school is Alabama with Bart Starr, Kenny Stabler and Joe Namath.)

The "Cradle of Quarterbacks" tradition started with Bob DeMoss, who gained fame as a freshman from Dayton, Ky., by leading the 1945 Boilermakers to an upset of fourth-ranked Ohio State in Columbus.

DeMoss passed up an opportunity to play professional football and stayed at his alma mater as quarterbacks coach for 20 years before becoming head coach in 1970. Along the way he recruited and developed many members of the "Cradle": Dale Samuels, Dawson, Griese, Mike Phipps and Gary Danielson.

Mark Herrmann set NCAA career records for passing attempts, completions and yards, as well as total offense - becoming the first quarterback in NCAA history to throw for 8,000 yards and subsequently the first to throw for 9,000 yards - from 1977 to 1980.

Later in the 1980s, Scott Campbell and Jim Everett became "Cradle" members and after coach Joe Tiller brought the spread offense to Purdue in 1997, Brees, Kyle Orton and Curtis Painter joined the exclusive club. "

This is an NC State thread. And of course he did. No looking back needed. Evident from Day 1. But who really got screwed was Champ Bailey.

and he still plays...so does TJ Graham

still have no idea what some dude fly fishing has anything to do with anything

some might even say..."random", "old" or "wrong thread"
