but they are all new characters

season 1 - haunted house in Los Angeles in the 2000s

season 2 - insane asylum in Massachusetts in the 1960s

season 3 - witch coven in New Orleans today

Felt like it was X-Men but with witches instead of mutants. A young girl finds out she has special powers and ends up at a special school with others of her kind that have different powers.

I LOVED season one, like season two, but I think this show is complete garbage. I will keep watching because my wife likes it but I couldn't be more disappointed at this point.

This season is definitely "lighter" than the last 2... but the writers said it would be that way.

I'm hoping it takes a darker turn. I like it, but the girls are kind of annoying, especially the voodoo doll girl.

I like this season a lot. It is very feminine though. So far the dudes only exist to further the women's storylines. Voodoo doll girl is the bomb--no idea how you could be annoyed by her...her only lines are to tell people when they suck.

Also, what do these girls do all day? Shouldn't they be in school or learning how to use their powers or something? It seems that all they do is walk around and do whatever all the time.

They burned her and all, but resurgence witch brought her back at the end of the episode... so there may be more of her

I really like the show: it's a nice mix of campy and creepy

but I've only started watching this season, so I don't know what it was like before

I became more familiar with Frances Conroy when she was Ruth on Six Feet Under. It's definitely unsettling how good she is.

Well even if she were to die she'll be back in the next season. She's been in the all of the seasons so far and she does a good job of playing her characters.
