He was going to take the UW job before, but they wouldn't pay him the money.

He loves/knows the region & it's not a high pressure gig. It's a job he's comfortable with and this time they paid up. It's really not that big a surprise (one of the few jobs he would consider).

Well Boise State has really fallen off the map lately... I'm sure that influenced his decision.

Wake reportedly focused on Lembo and Class on (Wellman has met with both).

Lembo met with UConn today, Clawson's name is being thrown around at Boise.

Bring on Mack Brown as recruiting coordinator. Seriously though Brown is getting a bunch of flack for being old, but he is the same age as Saban. Dude still has another ~5-7 years of coaching left in him if he wants to take over another program.

Notre Dame DC Bob Diaco to UConn.

Really the football program died the day Louisville moved to the ACC. Basketball can be fine and will win big still but that football program is in the wilderness.

Texas fans down here are more delusional than NC State fans when it comes to a coaching search. The best available coach right now is probably Mack Brown, too bad I don't think they can land him...

Was the talk of Saban or several prominent NFL head coaches true? If so, then yes, Texas fans are the most delusional fans.

a little too early to consider them delusional, especially with their resources

availability doesn't mean jack when it comes to being the head coach at Texas

Yeah that is what makes them delusional. They were talking about people like the Harbaugh brothers and Mike Tomlin as actual options. If you think you can land one of those guys for Texas football you are fucking delusional.

They are likely going to hire Franklin and pay him under 5 million, there is no reason to drop 10 on just any coach just because they can especially when there isn't a coach that would go there worth that kind of coin.

there have been legitimate things written about Jim Harbaugh going to Texas

not saying it will happen, but it certainly isn't out of the realm of possibility

so it would kind of go along with that narrative perfectly

left UL originally to go to the falcons, then bailed on them to go to arkansas, then got fired because he had his mistress on staff.

and now sounds like he's back at UL, lol

IIRC, he pretty much left without any warning and never met with the players or anything when he left.

He's definitely a good coach...but I don't know how this is gonna work out. I'm surprised to see him back a UL.

I live in Louisville, sadly, so I know lots of UofL fans. They are all awful. I know more UK fans that went to UK than I know UofL fans that went to Louisville. Which doesn't make sense because from and undergraduate stand point it's a pretty shit school. Anyway, lots of folks here are pretty upset about this Petrino hire.

Apparently he was a lot like Sidney Lowe (only he won)in the fact that there was no real structure, recruited thugs etc. When he left, 35 players left the team as well. He left them in a wreck, as bad as the mess Doeren was left. Only, NC State wasn't coming off an Orange Bowl victory and Louisville was.

Petrino constantly flirted with other jobs every off season and is basically a huge scumbag like Calipari is in Lexington. Hope its another disaster and UofL feels bad about themselves.

He did well at UL though and had Arkansas in position to do well in the SEC.

He is a good coach...a great pickup for UL again considering he knows how to recruit that place already.

They will be a serious ACC contender in about 3 years.

^absolutely. He's a great coach. Once he starts winning all these awful UofL fans will be all Bobby all the time. I wish he weren't coming becasue I was looking forward to beating UofL at football next year.
