Useless CEO of Useless Startup Complains Poor People are Useless.

I'm the most unempathetic person I know, and I used to work in that neighborhood--even I never said any shit like that. I always found it unbelievable up the hill there were Bentley's and Rolls Royce's and down the hill the most destitute poverty you've ever seen. These are not people that look like they are capable of holding a job or just on drugs. A lot of them look severely mentally ill.

One of the worst things I saw was 2 years ago at Christmas. A homeless couple was smoking something in a stem pipe with a 1 year old in a stroller. They probably could hold jobs, but they aren't in the majority in that neighborhood.

I've never lived in New York, but I imagine it has the same negatives but a larger geographic area. It seems easier to get around in NY compared to SF. SF just has boundless shit to do that isn't city stuff and a kind of neat character.

I guess it comes down to if you prefer middle class white kids and hipsters trying to strike it rich to Wall Street Tycoons.
