I just nearly got killed by a guy driving the wrong way on 440. Just after the split of 40 and 440 i went left on 440 towards knightdale. After .5 miles some dude was driving the wrong way in my lane at high speed. i had to swerve into the emergency shoulder between the concrete barrier in the median and the inside lane to avoid him. Anybody else see this?

Get to the Tdub chopper!!

Is this a joke or for real. If for real. Please call 911 or police dispatch. I believe *77 is dispatch.

1 girl was already killed by shit like this about 2 months ago.

Im glad I started riding with my Gopro. I've seen some crazy shit lately. Looks like the crazy driving is contaminating the US from Russia... Ain't nobody gonna dispute something captured on video.

You don't even have to spend this much, but investing $700 in two Gopros to record what goes on in front and behind you when you drive can be the difference between a quick and closed case and a huge, prolonged insurance battle. My last insurance battle lasted over a year. Despite being the other party's fault 100%, both companies agreed to split the blame 50/50. I was so disappointed. If we had video, it wouldn't have been a he said/she said battle.

I'm not sure how a helpful a gopro would have been in this case since it was over so quickly. I do see your point for normal driving accidents though. Plus if he would have hit me head on, i'm sure the camera wouldn't have survived either.

It was all over so quickly, the only description that i could give the 911 operator was a dark colored sedan. I'm usually very good at picking out the make and model of a car even when it's a long way away, but all i saw were headlights, a dark sedan profile, and tail lights.

I'm surprised that i haven't seen a news post about it yet, but maybe that means he didn't kill anyone.

Unfortunately, that probably means he wasn't caught either.....

Oh fuck I'm glad you're okay. Did you hit the barrier, is your car okay? Or just really shaken? I hope no other casualties occurred, I remember a girl being killed from this exact same thing recently as well

I worked with a guy last summer who did this. He went the wrong way down an on ramp to I-40 while he was completely trashed one night. He really injured himself and the guy he hit head on. He hasn't taken a drink since and feels terrible about it. I cant remember how long he was in jail but it wasn't very long, maybe a couple of months. He also did 2 years probation and a bunch of alcohol counseling and had to pay fines i think.

This seems to happen a lot. I've experienced it 3 times, myself, here in Raleigh.

I didn't hit the barrier or him...I'm lucky I drive a focus and its narrow. There was a car in front of me that nearly flipped trying to avoid it and I don't know how they saved it......

Needless to say I didn't sleep last night...

LOLOLOLOL

Someone does this every weekend, I think. Sometimes they're drunk, sometimes they're just old.
