This round has been a complete clusterfuck for the leaders.

You have to be kicking yourself for not winning the damn thing outright if you are any of the guys in the playoff right now.

whats funny is that it worked out PERFECTLY for Tiger. All of the leaders came back. He shoots a -3 and hes in the playoff. His body is beginning to fail him. I don't think we'll have a Tiger Woods in golf for much much longer.

I can't believe he is not going to break Nicklaus's record.

I don't think his body is failing him as much as his mind.

Just thinking over his career, he used to be a player that would see the correct shot type and just imagine it, then fire, almost in an unconscious way. It didn't matter how he needed to flight it or work it to get it in there, there was no unplayable shot for him. His biggest attribute despite the long game over the glory years was fearless putting. He used to an absolute monster with the flat stick. Nobody could hang with him around the greens 10 years ago.

Now, he labors over every shot. He tries to play that one cut shot into every hole, even when the ideal shot might be something completely different. He barely has any confidence in his putter anymore, and you're almost surprised when he makes anything over 10 feet when before you were surprised when he missed from that distance.

He still has the physical tools, but I think he might be damaged enough between the ears to never regain that youthful attitude of invincibility he once carried.

back surgery for tiger to fix pinched nerve/herniated disk...no masters for him...i would guess he may be ready for US Open but i wouldn't bet on it. Sucks too since it's in Pinehurst.

I think Tiger is basically done. Golf needs to find its next guy to really latch on to. Between all the girl problems and injuries his once promising career has never been the same, which is a shame. I keep hoping he will get back to that greatness, but stuff like this just keeps happening. Guess we all get old huh

How will not playing the masters affect Tiger's chances of winning the masters? I hope ESPN has more on this, because I'm lost.

Tiger can win for a long time even still IMO...I just think it's time for him to change his game...stop trying to be a power golfer off the tee. He's the best long iron player in the game so there's no reason for him to keep missing fairways so badly. doesn't take a violent swing to hit fairways on tour.

Yeah- I was out there yesterday over at 16/17. Loved what they did with the upgrades.

Can't wait to see the PGA Championship in 2017.

For Christmas I got my folks two tickets to the final round. The passes and info packet were shipped to my house a couple weeks ago and it was all I could do not to keep them for myself.

No. 2 has been redone and looks like it's going to be a lot more punishing than before. Should make for a good weekend of golf.

I'm taking a customer on Thursday and going with friends on Friday. I've been lucky enough to play that course many times (gf's dad was a member in high school) and attend both previous Opens.

You never get a full idea of exactly how small the usable area of the green is with their upside down bowl shapes on TV. It's a great wedge player's course.

Working in the merchandise tent a few days for the mens and a couple for the womens. I'll spend the rest of the week watching and playing some area golf.

The rates some of the courses are jacking their prices up is ridiculous.

Played the Dormie Club for the first time yesterday.

I highly recommend it for any golf purist. There are no frills. The beauty of it is in the simplicity of the whole thing. The clubhouse is this tiny log cabin, there are no homes on the course, and no cart paths. It's just an outstanding layout in the middle of the sand hills.

I'll post a couple pics when I get them up.

I wouldn't consider Tobacco Road a "no frills" course by any means. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the hell out of my round at TR (and fired a 77 out of nowhere), but I thought it's a rather gimmicky course.

Of all the holes on that course, I always play that one the best. Never shot worse than par on that hole.

Now the rest of the course...thats a different story.

What's the best way to find 4-man scramble tournaments around Raleigh? I am a member at Riverwood, so I usually only get to glance at the bulletin boards there and Eagle Ridge. I've browsed triad golf magazine, but didn't know if anyone else knew of a better place to look (i.e. newspaper, website, etc.)?

I'm not nearly as confident as I was a year or two ago that he'd still break Jack's majors record

But you can play golf professionally until you're really old, compared to other sports. It's kind of silly to count him out.

I do wonder why he still uses his back to bend down and pick up his tee though. Maybe try using your legs, Tiger?

I think it's over. but you can play golf until you're 1000 yr old. at this rate...yep

it amazes me that Tiger is arguably the greatest athlete to play his sport and is STILL playing second fiddle to Jack when it comes to what matter the most in golf. smh
