Slightly confused. I thought Monica has a separate vote on the board. Did her boss strong-arm her into being the 3rd and majority vote for her company? I thought she could at least say, "fuck you guys, I'm with Richard on this one". She still owns a personal percentage of the company...which should make a fuck-ton of money so she should be able to quit her job.

Am I missing something or am I just saying the common sense stuff that doesn't happen in every TV show?

while I'm a big fan of the jokes and back-and-forth between the guys, I'm getting a bit tired of the Entourage-zation of the overall arc of the show

I hope that in season 3 they get away from the "how are they gonna get out of this one?" that has happened in nearly every episode in the 1st two seasons

^^^i'm assuming that will be the way out next season?

This show is constantly 1-step forward, 2-steps back, these guys just can't win for losing.

Also I think it definitely fits her character for Monica to just vote with her boss instead of supporting Richard.

It's not like its a hidden, complicated message. She either votes with her company or votes with Richard. But her vote isn't automatically the company's...so I just hope they don't make it that way and make it more of a "she's towing the company line." Like ^he said.

Season 3 off to a good start. I could not stop laughing when they hit the robot deer and Erlich kept trying to kick it over. I seriously watched that scene like three times.

Enjoyed the episode as usual. Also dug the DJ Shadow + RTJ closing track. Especially considering it was just released.

I think I may have to cut this show from my viewing lineup - the ongoing roadblocks to their success combined with too few laughs in last night's episode may have finally done it. But then I think about the jerk off whiteboard scene and the Blaine SWOT'ing scene and the porn company nameplates and think maybe I should stick it out a few more episodes.

yea i still had good laughs

and i was almost going to have the same complaints about too many dumb roadblocks, but last nights was almost a bottle episode, from roadblock plots anyway. The two major fuckups both were resolved w/in the episode.

i suppose that interview could come back to bite them still but it was a relative happy ending.

I still enjoy it, but it seems to be stagnating a bit. It just doesn't feel like the main storyline is progressing much. Still love the characters, their interaction, etc. but this season has been a bit meh outside of a few really good moments (sales people, Dinesh chain, server farm scene).

yep still a great show. last week, when TJ Miller was coughing after the bong hits and trying to explain why it was good that Hooli had done what they did...man i was dying laughing at that entire scene.

^^ Be careful about expressing such an obvious opinion about the season thus far lest some of the others become upset. But I'm not sure how anyone defends this week's episode unless you're just really into coding humor.

"Why bring sand to the beach when there's already pussy there?"

I did enjoy the coding humor, but the episode did nothing for advancing the story. Always felt like the Bachmanity storyline felt super forced just to give those 2 more screentime.

I know jack shit about coding, but I still got the "tab and spaces" jokes and thought it was pretty funny...especially when Richard fell down the stares trying to jump eight steps at a time.

I'll admit this is the weakest episode of the season so far, but I still think the season is good.

Loved the Hawaiian Alkatraz thing and all the "assholes of the valley" bit.

Gilfoyle (sp?) was on point as always.

Also have to add shitdongle to the insult list.

it wasn't a great episode, and you're right it was just kinda filler episode. but in a way it was nice for an episode not to be as dramatic as all the others. seems like every episode Pied Piper is inches from falling apart before being saved at the last minute, or some variation of them just continually saving the company. to me that gets a bit tired...so in a way it was nice to have a differently paced episode if nothing else.

^ That's what I'm getting tired of too. I want the writers to be able to kick out good stories without the company being in jeopardy and every episode just following the same formula.

yep. and the show is still funny and enjoyable, but it gets old when they have to save the company every single episode.
