Anyone watched these episodes?

They did this last year I think, but the premise is that they made 10 pilots and released them for free on Amazon Prime. They want subscribers to watch and then give feedback with the idea that one or more of these become a series.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?docId=1001155581

The only reason I began to care was that they are adapting one of my favorite book series/characters into a show with Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch line of books. The show is called Bosch. I watched it and really did enjoy it.

Wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on this. Any other Connelly fans? These books tie in to the Lincoln Lawyer series which led to a movie starring Matthew McConaughey. I thought the actor nailed it and am really hoping this becomes a full time series.

I love what is happening to TV in terms of delivery and medium... one day we might be able to ditch big package providers or force them to adapt.

There is a Chris Carter pilot there called The After. May give that one a shot.

Watched The After. Pretty good premise but i don't think it can stand on its own.

I liked The After, I really want to find out what the fuck is going on. It's the type of show I could see getting cancelled on a network, but I hope Amazon picks it up.

The Rebels is hilarious and could hold its own on a major network.

Mozart in the Jungle wasn't very good,no way it gets picked up.

Bosch was good, but I'm indifferent as to whether or not it gets picked up.

Transparent was boring

The Rebels is terrible, and it fails both as an insider show about football and as a comedy in general.

Mozart in the Jungle on the other hand is delightful, warm and engaging.

Bumpidy

transparent has its own thread now: message_topic.aspx?topic=643393

So we'll leave that for there.

Watched the pilot of Bosch last night; it was pretty good, I just don't see where it's going to get extended into a full-season or multiple seasons

Started Alpha House... pretty funny so far.

I've watched Transparent. It was pretty awesome. Very dark comedy. Tambor is amazing.

might give Alpha House a shot after I get through Deadwood. I am still waiting for Bosch... these should be coming out soon, right?

Here is what I've read in various reviews:
Point of Honor- bad, cliche, cringe-worthy, doesn't feel authentic
Salem Rogers- derivative and uninspired, but the two main characters have good chemistry. would be at home on network tv but not likely to be picked up.
Down Dog- not bad, not good. meh.
Cocked- not sure about the story, but Jason Lee is good in everything so worth giving it a chance for him
Mad Dogs- good, watchable, dramatic
The Man in High Castle- great, thrilling, exciting

I'm probably going to watch Cocked, Mad Dogs, and the Man in High Castle Tonight

they don't do this any more but there wasn't general Amazon thread for this discussion...

No renewals for The Patriot and Sneaky Pete. Yeah I know I'm probably behind on this news, but just finished Sneaky Pete last night

Makes me very nervous for the other shows on there that I watch
