I've always thought U2 were overrated...guess I still do...but they did a good job with that song

that one dude out-douched himself

which is saying something considering he's in U2

I thought the set looked pretty cheap compared to Leno's and Conan's tonight show sets.

Other than that, I liked it. Will Smith is the man.

that's funny, because I thought the set was absolutely gorgeous and probably my favorite thing about the new Tonight Show (other than being back in NY)

also, even though I've watched him host a late night talk show for the past 5 years, tonight was the first time I noticed that Fallon comes off as an earnest Pee Wee Herman

I've heard a lot of people giving Fallon shit for softballing/sucking up to celebs and not being a good interviewer (I've done this myself also). But there's something to be said about having a host that the celebs genuinely like. He can make boring and standoffish celebs seem friendly and interesting.

He just interviewed Kristen Stewart and made her actually seem like a live human being with real emotions.

His job is not to do good interviews. His job is to have fun, and he's excellent at it.

Letterman does great interviews when he feels like it, but there's a lot of give and take, and if he's not into it for whatever reason, he shuts down completely.

Ferguson is the best interviewer in late night.

Conan is still the best host

But I rarely remember to turn to TBS at 11

Did Ferguson ever announce that he was retiring? I heard rumors.

It was pretty awesome. Disappointed not to see Lisa Turtle. She was my first black crush growing up. She gave me the courage to hit on black girls all through middle school and high school in my racist-ass town.

^Yeah but have you seen Lisa Turtle recently? It would ruin your mental image for sure.

I, too, found my love for the dark oak when I first saw Lisa Turtle.

I really, really liked her.

Too bad Lark Vorhees is about as bat shit crazy as her cousin, Jason.

Did anybody see the Jimmy/Nicole interview that was referenced in the Bayside skit? I went back and watched that. Holy shit that was funny and cringe inducing at the same time.
