Stellar performance last night against UNC. Definitely showed his potential as a beast in the low post. I've seen him grow from a travesty at the NC Central game to a budding dominator in the ACC these next few years. If he can keep up the conditioning, we may have a true star here.

Get "Anya" feet Wolfpack fans!!!!

I liked seeing Anya and Washington on the court together last night. Those two could be a force together for a few years if they keep progressing

Anya's rituals are for home games only...he hasn't found anything that works for away games

Football:
-First thing in the morning...put on the NCSU Football bracelet

-Tailgate, tailgate, tailgate
-At the game I wear the #17 P. Rivers Chargers jersey or my NCSU alumni association t-shirt

Basketball:
-Wear the red sweater vest, white button up, red tie, and red/white victory socks on game day if it is a work day. If it is a weekend, I wear my white NCSU hoodie all day till game time.
-At the game I wear the #44 David Thompson jersey with red sweater underneath, red / white 3 striped adidas fleece on top of that if it is cold enough, and 1998 throwback ncsu snapback hat (actually, it's not a throwback...I got it in 1998)

Both:
-Bojangles' on Western for breakfast....4 piece Supreme Dinner, dirty rice, iced tea, bbq sauce, and 2 packs of honey
-Red "beer" boxers (thank God games aren't on back to back days)

Our frontline is going to be STOUT next year with a beefed up Washington, trimmed down Anya, more experienced Freeman, and freshmen stud Abu. Its going to be glorious.

What concerns me...will they produce consistently on the offensive end? (Kyle's jump shot and jump hook seem to be the most promising ,although he's certainly got to temper his confidence in the jumpshot).

What excites me...they're freshmen and their chemistry seems amazing. I don't remember any players who seem to have as much fun on the court together.

can't wait to see their senior leadership. something we've been missing since...atsur?

They'll do fine on the offensive end. Washington has game and the other three are straight beasts. Will get plenty of offensive rebounds as well. I can't remember the last time we will have had such a solid frontcourt...Inge/Kelly/Thornton?? serious...but not serious

Wonder what Gott could have done with a team that had Tracy Smith, Vandenberg, Howell, Painter, Josh Davis, Dennis Horner and Wood.

Haha Farnold and Javier. Good times.

I don't watch a whole lot of college basketball outside of the acc, but i can't recall the last time i saw someone almost pull the goal down like anya did last night.

Needs to stop trying to hunt for blocks. If you are 400 pounds, box out a guy or three.

most of his highlights were from blocked shots. but it seems like hes evolving more as a legitimate low post scorer which is what we need to succeed in this league

Always seemed to make a positive contribution when he was on the court, probably should have gotten more of Vandy's minutes since he actually has the hand eye coordination to drop a basketball through a rim. Definitely needs to drop some weight so he can stay on the court longer but what he really needs to do is develop a go to post move. He's got a nice soft touch around the rim, just needs to learn how to get his shot off consistently.

He's developed nicely this season. Kinda surprised he didn't drop more weight. Hopefully we'll see a big transformation in the off season.

Ahh...that Jibbles-wannabe was closer to 340 than 310 last year. I actually think he started the year at 330.

If he can get below 300 before the season starts...then I think we'll be fine. If he can go Richard Howell Beast-mode at some point and get jacked up and in the 280 range...then he'll be a lottery pick.

Agree with this. He's got some explosion to go with his freakish length. Pretty good touch and decent shot too. Only thing holding him back is weight and conditioning. I don't think he'll get there completely by next season, but he could be beasting by his junior year.

Lets not get too crazy. I think he'll be just fine this year if he can make it to 280-285.

If he's coming in at 300, we will see a DRAMATIC difference in him next year. Started last season at 340 and did ok, but had zero stamina, like could barely stay in for 5 minutes (real time not clock time). Then by the end of the season he was at 325 he was playing a lot better and was playing substantially more minutes. Now coming in 25 pounds under where he ended last season and I've got to think he can do everything in his game way better. Move quicker, jump higher, just all around a better player. Excited to see what he can do. Minimum second team all-ACC next year.

Minimum of 2nd team seems like high expectations for a guy that hardly played last year. He has the size for it but I wouldn't say it is a lock.

Regardless of what happens next season for this kid, and his career at State for that matter, he should be commended in every way. This kid knew he was out of shape when he got here. And every second he's been here he seems to be busting his ass to make himself the best player he could possibly be. Very happy for his gains and what he's doing. Great to see a kid work that hard for something. Hopefully the entire team is working this hard and we see a big jump in on the court production out of everyone.
