1) 30° Saturday morning, with a daytime high of 48°
2) My car is filthy and hasn't been washed in around 8 weeks.

This most likely means I will not be attending.

I'll just leave this here, new dream car. Guy drove this monster to C&C, and was able to back it up between 2 cars. IMPRESSIVE , with the way that cam was surging.

Quote :
"Cars and Coffee Raleigh Grande

Who took money from our Charity???

If your exit from the event the last few months included an act of immature irresponsibility it might be you. The exhibition of speed upon exiting the January event was epidemic and is unacceptable. If this issue is not resolved immediately we will be forced to employ the Raleigh Police Department for security. This would require a cost that would have to be deducted from the money collected from the sponsors that is earmarked for our charity Wheels 4 Hope. If the event gets shut down, as happened to the Cary event and, more recently, Irvine, there will be no money earned for the charity. Some have mentioned the “peer pressure” from the people standing along the curb. These are primarily teenagers who do not yet have a driver’s license. If you consider these peers then you are not mature enough for this event.

As a collective group we, the organizers, are unanimous in the feeling that Cars & Coffee has become more like work than fun for us. Despite all our efforts and pleas we are still being met with total disrespect regarding speed, noise, parking, etc. The offending actions at the January event are too many to list. Simply know that we are observing and taking notes. We would like to enjoy the events that we work so hard to provide to all of you as much as you do. Please show respect for the laws, organizers/volunteers, the host Raleigh Grande, the surrounding businesses and their customers, the neighboring apartments and fellow attendees.

We are also disappointed in the amount of money being donated to Wheels 4 Hope at the events. With 300-400 cars at each event as a conservative estimate, the amount donated by attendees has been far short of $100. While there is no charge for the event we don’t feel it unreasonable to ask that every car in attendance donate a dollar or two or that you volunteer for an hour or two to show your support for the event. We have ideas on how to make the event better but are forced to expend our time and energy on dealing with the aforementioned violations.

Please note the following guidelines for future events:

*ABSOLUTELY no exhibition of speed! If you wouldn’t do it in front of a cop, don’t do it. If you feel this is unreasonable then this is not the event for you.

*Park only in designated spaces/One space per vehicle. It is unfair that some vehicles had to be turned away while some people took two spaces. If vehicles valued at $250,000 or more can do it, so can you. This isn’t a grocery store lot. Everyone here is a car lover and will be conscientious. Parking along curbs may be allowed only with the express consent/direction of the event staff.

*No holding spaces. Cars & Coffee is a first come, first serve event. Those who make it a priority to get to the event early should not be denied in exchange for those who slept in.

*Be respectful. This includes fellow attendees, volunteers and all neighboring businesses and residents. –Children and dogs do not have the respect for vehicles you do. Please be vigilant if you are accompanied by either.

We look forward to a safe, successful and productive event in February."

This event will be dead and gone before 2015 is over.

My mind is blown over the $100 in donation. I drop $10 in every month, so out of over 1k people they only get $90 more. WTF

^^ I had the honor of attending school with him from 6th grade onward

I used to chill with him in the pre-driving days. Something clicked around the time of driving and we split ways. Not really sure what is up, but I get a sketchy feeling some times.

I am pretty disappointed to see that picture of his car like that.

Why do you say that?

In any case, I didn’t want to wake up quite that early -went to the drift event instead-, so I really do appreciate you posting the pics of it. The visible carbon with the doors open and the race buckets are nice to see. Kind of surprising that these angles are not more common around the web. What a great car. Also of note, that’s not a great color combo and the spoiler looks weird in the off/down position. And finally, (I assume) the U.S. spec orange headlights look out of place. Still, an amazing car for sure.

McLaren P1

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_P1

^^ I don't really know, might be that this car didn't scream I'm $1.3 million dollars. I just wasn't nearly as excited about seeing this car as I am about a C7 Z06, R8 or any other car that I can see myself being able to afford one day.

Well it’s understandable that you’d be more interested in seeing a car that you could imagine yourself driving someday, but it’s pretty hard to over state how monumentally impressive this McLaren is. To be fair, the Z06 is quite the high water mark in several ways as well. I have recently started wondering if I am interested in a Z06 again btw. I haven’t warmed up to the C7 yet, but C5s are dirt cheap and C6s are plenty capable... HMMM

This is hardly relevant but I still remember the first time I saw an F40 -was also the first time I started thinking that maybe Ferraris aren’t all garbage...

That is also immensely cool that somebody (who can drive by the way) would track a P1. Dang it, now I want one, like actually want one! I don’t like wanting things that I can’t have :’(

Bring it, trust me there's always a few riced civics with dirt caked on them. We are welcoming to all types, as long as you don't endanger the event by hooning on exit.

glassssssss went through this exact situation, he kind of walked up to me and said are you BlackJesus . I've been to every C&C at the new location, and there has only been one where another black guy showed up with a G8. If you stand back maybe 5 minutes you will find me talking to the other G8/GTO owners most likely. Black Guy, 6'1 ish. Safest thing to do is ask someone standing near that group of cars, if they know who owns the black one.

Nothing like taking the risk to introduce/identify a forum member

I was pulling into a parking spot at one of the Rudy's diesel events last year and the guy standing there says "You're Dr Pepper!"

I somehow missed that one today. It was a pretty good turnout and nice to see RPD putting in work on Lynn Rd.

I talked to the officer that was circling the lot at 8am, supposedly someone called in a noise complaint first thing this morning. I wonder if the same complainer calls in a complaint every time a loud car drives by? It's a lame tactic to try and get a event they don't like cancelled.

Seriously hot rover!!

Also, yeah that's lame but it would take more than a few complaints to shut down an event. I would hope anyway.

Anyway, missed another one. Though I keep having to wake up earlier and earlier on weekdays, so maybe next time I won't hit snooze! Sounds like a fun event.
