it looks like it could be a lot of fun. Its been awhile since the last real good space opera. Gives me sort of a Serenity/5th Element vibe (but maybe with a little more action and a little less humor than those 2)

I was surprised a little about that, too, because the trailer for the Matrix was one of the best ever made; It left you excited to see the movie without ruining the second act, so that the second act was just an amazing movie going experience.

its funny that yall respond that way, because a lot of the feedback i had read elsewhere from the earlier teaser trailers were complaining about how it looked like there was no coherent story. Maybe they overcompensated by going too far the other direction and gave too much away in the new trailers, but really i feel like the story may not be so important for this one. i feel like the strength of this movie will be its over the top (and hopefully awesome) action sequences, and as long as the story is competent, it will be an extremely fun movie to watch. I'm surprised by the negative backlash, especially from Banjo with his heightened expectations for that new John Wick, which by all indications looks like a shitty played out story, but with with bad ass action sequences actually making it worth a watch.

Dude, don't be so sensitive. Stating that the trailer makes it look a lot like the Matrix should be a no brainer. And this doesn't necessarily imply that it will suck. A lot of people said that Edge of Tomorrow was just another Tom Cruise apocalyptic movie, and that turned out amazing. And saying that they were trying to appeal to audiences with this trailer is an excuse for them not coming up with something better.

And why don't you do some research on John Wick. The reviews are coming in and they are all so far extremely positive. If the same happens with the movie, then I would not complain a bit.

Sensitive? I'm definitely not sensitive about this movie I barely give a damn about. I was just trying to say that if this movie does turn out to be any good, I don't think it will be primarily because of its story, but it's action.

I ended up liking it better than I thought that I would. The script and dialogue were total shit, but parts of it were cool.

I thought that the idea of living on Jupiter was cool, and their approach to setting up a society there was pretty thoughtful and creative. I also really liked the tiny little aliens that morphed into human looking people to do their dirty work. I thought that that aspect of the film was nice, even if a little bit similar to what was done in The Arrival with Charlie Sheen. They should have just further explored that direction IMO.

I feel like several scenes are missing, it jumps around way too much. The dialogue is soooo bad and the visuals, while somewhat spectacular, were not enough to make this thing bearable.

it definitely is not in the same weirdness category as Lost River or Under the Skin. It is more of a cool visual effects movie ruined by boring dialogue about trade discussions, which is very similar to Star Wars Episodes I-III.

I couldn't stand the husky voice of the "bad guy". Really? Was that really necessary? Annoying as fuck.

Movie was okay IMO. Definitely fine for just DVR'ing off Showtime/HBO and not "paying" for it.

If it had been anything like the trailer (especially the one that some of you said gave everything away), it would have been great. But it was nothing like that at all, and we didn't even get an epic Sean Bean death scene.

Also, Eddie Redmayne's face makes me want to hit something everytime I see him in a movie.
