i demand pop music. recommend the best pop songs that i may not know about. I need 60s pop, pop rock, power pop, indie pop (whatever that means), pop punk, noise pop, garage pop if that's a thing, bubblegum pop, anything along those lines. no top 40, country pop, k-pop, etc. keep that shit to yourself

If you don't mind country in your pop, and you like old wilco, and you haven't before, check out uncle tupelo (tweedy's earlier band). i guess that qualities as country pop? or country rock? or alt country?

You're right, I got mixed up. If you consider today's mainstream "country" to be "country pop" (which I do, and I think it's terrible), then Uncle Tupelo is nowhere near "country pop"

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility.
