This comes on Tuesday's at 10. I watched it last night and was pretty impressed. I thought the show was fast paced and managed to set the stage well within the first episode, something a lot of series fail to do.

Reviews by critics have been mixed, largely because they feel it furthers middle eastern stereotypes at a time when the opposite is needed.

I really liked the first episode *****spoilers*****

I thought the dynamic between the brothers was pretty good, the surprise with execution scene and that the pace matched the plot. Outside of pure entertainment, I think the show has the ability to address some interesting topics, such as homosexuality in the middle east, gender equality, etc...


But that's just me, what does everybody else think?

I just finished watching the first episode and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing what they can do with the show.

Was a nice little twist to see that sociopath side come out of Besam all of the sudden when he shot the guy and was slapping his son. Almost like a beast he is going to have to try and reign in.

I was sort of shocked how far they went with the new bride/father in law scene. Something I'd expect from HBO but not so much FX. Not offended or anything, just caught off guard.

it's sort of like homeland except it manages to operate at a quicker pace without sacrificing the character and plot development.

also, sort of like a middle eastern Godfather.

I watched this series through last nights finale. Good series!! I hope they do a season 2. It definitely left itself open for another season, but it seems like most series are doing that these days (except for Fargo). I'm still blown away on how good Fargo was. What to watch now?!?
