If the price is reasonable I may consider it. 6/25/2014 4:24:23 PM |

Loud...capacitors...electric motors...something...save lives?
Without any judgement on the drivetrain one way or the other, I do like the styling on that bike a lot. 6/26/2014 3:12:11 PM |

haha, I will admit, I really didn't see this one coming from HD. As a Buell owner and an electric-assist bicycle rider, I actually applaud HD trying again to move forward with the times, but again, as a Buell owner, I can't see this project going very far past the testing phase.
I do know that tripleD4u, like most old-school HD riders, was not very happy about this turn of events, to say the least His plan for dealing with this bike involves acetylene torches and gas cans.
My head almost did explode from the ungodly size of that image though
[Edited on June 27, 2014 at 5:55 AM. Reason : probably still better than anything sumfoo1 can build for that price] 6/27/2014 5:47:08 AM |

^ duh... Way to go out of your way for the edit dig tho.
Seriously I found that your looking at 6k in motor 6k in controller and 8k in battery for anything exciting (Aka 100hp ~350lbs without frame forks and wheels just those parts)
Operation build a bike has been put in hold until more than 1 company makes a viable motor controller, or, that motor controller starts working on the Lexus hybrid motors so one could get a junkyard motor. 6/27/2014 6:29:27 AM |

Saw a guy with a Zero SR and talked to him for a few minutes. He is getting 60-100 miles on one charge which would work for commuting but probably not the weekend rides that I mostly do. Bike looked like a real motorcycle designed from scratch, as opposed to the kit bike look these had back in the day. I do think they could have been more futuristic looking, but they look as a sharp as any 500cc modern street bike 6/27/2014 3:40:25 PM |

Have two buddies here with Zero S bikes. They LOVE them.
But they are basically useless for long rides because none of the Tesla Supercharge stations and most other charge stations don't work with the Zero (beyond the 110v trickle charge).
If Zero can put in an adapter for Tesla chargers, then these bikes would really be usable for long rides. 6/29/2014 5:10:47 PM |
