I didn't see a general Steam thread and what I wanted to post didn't quite fit the sale.

Someone wrote a script that adds all free steam games/dlc/etc. to your account. It doesn't download the games, but just adds the rights to your account (like when you ordinarily purchase games). I thought it might interest some of you PC gamers.

Half of these are MMOs meaning ya its free to download/install but not to play.

Most DLC if its free is normally auto-downloaded/included.

I wonder if anyone here still plays those old arena shooters or shooters in general like QW, TFC, TF2, CS, etc...?

All the NCSU-related steam groups seem to be really inactive . Maybe people just don't game much at all anymore.

I play quite a few steam games and lately been in cs:go a bit.

I know the ncsu group I helped start, we dont play much together, but a lot of us in the group are active still.

steam stream is pretty cool. i'm playing on my tv with an intel nuc celeron unit i got for like $145 connected back to my desktop with a GTX780.

wired networking is pretty much a must as 1080p regularly grabs >20mbps

Lately, I've been playing a lot of Team Fortress 2's Mann vs Machine mode; I've always preferred cooperative play to competitive. It's a horde that reminds me of Mass Effect 3's multiplayer campaigns, which I played a bit for a while.

I'm in the middle of Transistor and Fables: A Wolf Among Us, too.

Tbh, I couldn't say, but given the number of servers out there, I'm sure there's a least one that's all-stock. A lot of the items are cosmetic anyway, stat-counting version of stock items, or offer a different play style. Few are just the all-around best, and when one is superior to others it's often situational. I main medic, and I mostly use the regular medi gun.

I think I'll give team fortress a shot; I realized when me and my friend fired up perfect dark remake that that was pretty much the last fps I played extensively multiplayer...kind of a genre I've ignored over the last 10 yrs

I've just started using Steam and mostly do Garrys Mod/Prop Hunt (which I love, it is just hard to find a good server that is balanced - lots of people that expose glitches and take winning seriously for some reason). I've tried Counter Strike, but I am terrible and most of the games are crazy mod servers with a ton of 12 year olds. I like Team Fortress 2, but haven't put much time into it.
