Because I don't think I've ever seen you post
"This car is the perfect weight..." or "This car actually could stand to use more weight..." or "Anything positive about the weight of the car"
Seriously, every comment you make about a car model you say something about the weight of the car and it's usually never good.
It's...weird. 9/10/2014 11:17:17 PM |

^ Fuckin' A. 1300 lbs, and not really especially built to be a flyweight example.

I'm with Teg and Duke. However, I'm pretty sure we can agree that the S2000 and the Cayman S are pretty aggressive and well balanced vehicles. Anything 1.5 Tons or less is good in my book, and the 3000lb limit is a stretch for some cars... 9/11/2014 1:15:33 AM |

What Hiro and Duke said. If I had to pick a relatively new car to commend, the latest M3/M4 is actually lightweight for what it is. 9/11/2014 8:33:55 AM |

Teg, you don't have weight constraints for your women, do you?
I have a buddy that likes 'em underweight by about 10-15#. 9/11/2014 8:48:47 AM |

In general I like my women fit. But there is a sliding scale for the boob to overall weight ratio.

Here's a car that I approve of: The new 2016 Audi TT weighs in at 2712 lb, and that's with Quattro AWD. That's 312 lbs less than the 2015 model with comparable drivetrain.

^Is that Audi on paper spec or real world measurement? I ask because BMW pulls that crap all the time. New F80 M3 on paper is 200-300lb less than previous model, but in real world it is more like 50-100lb less. Manufacturers literally confused and conquer with different weight specs...dry, curb...etc. I can't stand it. 9/11/2014 4:30:50 PM |

Not sure 100%, that's the weight AB stated in their first drive. The TT also uses the same platform as the MK7 Golf and that car is also considerably lighter.
So hopefully it's the real deal. 9/12/2014 8:29:43 AM |

Is that a joke in reference to the weight of the current 991 911? 10/27/2014 10:28:50 AM |
Ahmet All American 4279 Posts user info edit post |
I have to point out about the 996, it was far stiffer, more powerful, somewhat bigger and significantly lighter than the 993 that it replaced. 997 was quite close in weight, nearly identical in size while being stiffer and more powerful still. 10/27/2014 12:07:12 PM |

^^ not sure what the artist intended specifically. I took it as an artistic/ exaggerated take on cars getting larger/heavier.

From what I remember reading, the 911 above is an artist's commentary on what will happen if we continue to allow safety regulations to grow and how it will impact the art of car design. Specifically I think the pedestrian impact standards in Europe were what triggered the art piece. And although it's obviously an exaggeration, I do hate what the pedestrian impact stuff has done to car design. 10/28/2014 8:52:17 AM |

^^^^it's still considerably lighter than any other sedan with comparable power outputs. Like 400-800 lbs lighter. See: S65 AMG, Bentley Silver Spur, etc.
^^&^^^when you have that much horsepower nobody cares. Plus, its really just designed for straight lines...and lurid oversteering for turns
