Saw this last night, it was pretty entertaining. It's not the greatest film ever by any means but I enjoyed it - had a Hunger Games feel to it. They're making it into more movies (trilogy?). 9/23/2014 11:05:52 AM |

Yes, the books are a trilogy. I think the next one is the scorch trials, but I never read the 2nd and 3rd books. 9/23/2014 11:17:22 AM |

Hollywood is doing this with everything now. I am just wondering how long it will be until my dear old Animorphs series gets chopped up into this horse shit. 9/23/2014 3:02:33 PM |

I remember Animorphs had a tv show. 9/23/2014 3:22:18 PM |

Yeah, but in terms of taking the basics and turning it into a love triangle and kids being put into deadly and violent situations, it is safe to say that has not been done to it yet. The TV show was basically trying to rip off goosebumps and or tales from the crypt IIRC.
I am honestly very surprised to be honest, because the love triangle is most def there (or could be easily set into place) and the kids have to survive on their own with no adult supervision.

saw it last night, it was pretty good. nice visuals/cgi. it was kinda weird though how they throw the entire backstory at you in about a 5 minute span. by the time the lady was done explaining i was like uhhh ok.

this is actually based on books? judging by the previews i thought it was just a blatant ripoff of the hunger games.

The Animorphs TV show was nothing like Goosebumps or Tales from the Crypt. At all. Both those shows were horror anthologies, with goosebumps basically being like a kids version of TFTC. Animorphs was a series with plot lines and story arcs that connected all the episodes.
Also it is terrible. I watch it sometimes when I'm awake at 4 AM because there is literally nothing else on tv (I don't have cable/satellite/netflix).9/29/2014 10:03:49 AM |

about to finish the first book, it's enjoyable and a quick read. want to at least finish the second one before the movie comes out for it.
anyone going to see Scorch Trials or reading/have read the books? 9/16/2015 2:49:17 PM |

I'd like to see Scorch Trials. watched the first one on a "netflix & chill" date and loved it. 9/16/2015 3:51:15 PM |

^haha I've seen that. The books address a lot of those plot holes. It definitely wasn't a well done movie but it was interesting enough to get me into the books.
Same thing with Divergent. I just watched that and thought "I bet the books are way better" so I actually ordered the Maze Runner and Divergent box sets at the same time.
Gotta get my angsty teen dystopian fiction fix on, man. 9/17/2015 11:11:16 AM |

finished the trilogy over the weekend.
The Scorch Trials was so far from the books it was really only similar in name. They took a bunch of wonderful content and just ruined it. I get streamlining things for movie audiences but this was just ass backwards from everything. 9/30/2015 9:34:35 AM |

That movie was garbage. These types of movies keep getting worse. They're starting to make The Hunger Games look good. 9/30/2015 11:51:42 AM |
