Does anyone know how to do this?

I have tried everything under the sun and the goddamn browser still blocks it.

You should try defragmenting your hard drive

Please describe what you have tried to do.

Have you installed the latest version of Java (8u20) and made sure all earlier versions were uninstalled?

If you're using a 64-bit build of Firefox, did you make sure you installed the latest version of 64-bit Java too? The auto-updater only auto-updates the 32-bit version of Java (this will change when Java 9 is released, probably early next year).

Have you gone to the Add-Ons menu (Ctrl+Shift+A), clicked on Plugins, and for every Java-related plugin, picked "Always Activate" or "Ask to Activate"?
"Ask to Activate" is more secure than letting plugins (especially Java, the bane of security professionals everywhere) auto-activate, and it's even better to make it activate per-element rather than per-page, using this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/click-to-play-per-element/

---

If the applet in question is not digitally signed, or not otherwise compliant with the High security level, you'll need to add the domain name the applet is loaded from (and maybe the domain name for the page the applet is embedded on) to an exception list in the Java Control Panel, I think somewhere in the Security tab: The latest versions of Java no longer support generally allowing applets at any security level below High (previous versions supported Medium, and very old versions even supported Low).

In this case, it's not a Firefox thing: All browsers will have this problem, but fortunately you won't need to change the relevant settings for every browser you use.

I got it to work. I had to modify some settings in the Java Control Panel.
