Mike O'Donnell will be a hell of a coach one day. And:

Quote :
"During his time as a Knight, O'Donnell started 89-consecutive contests at point guard. He totaled 195 career triples, good for third in program history. On seven occasions during his career, he drained at least six 3-pointers in a game, including seven against Rollins in 2006-07. That season, he shot 43.0 percent from deep as the Knights won 22 contests and finished second in Conference USA.

As a senior in 2007-08, he averaged a career-high 11.9 points. For his career, he averaged 10.2 points per contest.

O'Donnell ranks sixth in school history with 394 career assists, and is ninth all-time with 140 steals. He always seemed to be on the court, averaging 31.9 minutes for his career. As a senior, he averaged 34.3 minutes, one of the top marks in C-USA."

3 sets around 90 minutes
4 sets gets near 2 hours
5th set would be at least 15 more minutes.

There has been a 3 set match last an hour, but that was when we really sucked. This one should last at least 90 minutes.

Gott doesn't look as much like Fat Gott as he did in a picture previously this offseason.

I guess it's good for him that he hasn't put on an unhealthy amount of weight. But it woulda been funny to see Fat Gott on the sidelines this year

Honestly it was pretty boring, too much downtime between events. Just cut out all the shooting bs and get to the scrimmage.

I think our defense will be strong this year. Either that or our offense sucks.

I get trying to get women's basketball in this event. But the way it was done tonight was absolutely terrible. Sucked all of the life out of the stadium.

the event was pretty fun, but the women's basketball portion was weak (5 member teams have to hit consecutive shots once and then a fan from the stands makes a layup, lasted about 2 minutes total). The legends game was awesome, some of those guys can still shoot (although the defense was nonexistent like you'd expect in an all star game). The men's scrimmage was intense, definitely game pace, these guys are fighting for minutes.

* anya had at least 5 nice blocks (2 consecutive on lacy), but still no offense
* cat looked ok but lost a couple balls, didn't really see him shoot that much except from foul-line jumpers
* lacey didn't kill it at point, his team definitely struggled to get shots off (3-4 almost shot clock violations)
* turner looked sharp, some good looks from deep and some nice floaters in the paint
* washington showed nice energy and hammered down some dunks and put backs
* dez played good D and showed off his vertical on a highlight reel alley-oop dunk
* abu and freeman didn't do much when they got the ball, nothing memorable from their play
* didn't know which twin was which, but they didn't have a huge impact either (although one of them had a nice steal from cat)

It was a low scoring affair, something like 25-18. I think they are still working things out on offense and didn't see many fast break points. The defense looked good, not many open looks and several possessions went deep into the shot clock. Based on the 20 minute scrimmage, turner is going to be the big scorer off dishes from cat, washington will be all over the boards and cleaning up the garbage.

What did everyone else see?

Not to be a dick, but Little Head Ced took that stat line all the way to the NBA first round.

^ Not really. Ced was above average as far as blocks for a big man, but I don't think he was close to Anya. His offensive game was also really coming around towards the end of his sophomore year. I think he averaged about 12 points a game. And he put on some great performances that raised his stock. He almost dropped a triple double going against Shelden Williams...with his point total around the 30 mark.

Simmons' offensive game was light years ahead of Anya's at this point.

Let's see. Little Head Ced relied mostly on put backs and transition dunks to get his stat line and was mostly touted as a defensive stopper as opposed to an offensive juggernaut. His speed and athleticism was a huge plus, but he never developed more than slams and put backs. Hence, he is playing in Turkey right now.
