i have seen Charlie Daniels 3-4x, Hank Williams Jr 3x, David Allan Coe once, Zac Brown Band 2x, Alabama, Robert Earl Keen 4x (i think), Reckless Kelly, Junior Brown, the Lost Trailers (before they went pop country), and even Merle fuckin' Haggard.

I have shitloads of old vinyl of people like Randy Travis, Vern Gosdin, George Jones, etc.

I like country music.

...but I couldn't name any of the shittiest country songs from the last 5 years, or mostly the last 10 years, because it would be pretty much all of them, and I don't listen to country radio at all any more. I've completely written it off as a lost cause. Goddamn what a heinously terrible genre of music it has become, aside from some of the Texas country and alt-country stuff that isn't on any major label and doesn't get any airplay.

Anything by Luke Bryan. God he sucks.

I hope we get over this "bro country" fad pretty quickly, because it has ruined country music. But to say it is all bad today isn't being fair to some of the more talented artists. I think Brad Paisley has some good stuff out there.

If you look back to the 90's...there were some good standouts, but there was also some really bad stuff back then too.

I don't mind "bro-country" as much as some, but some of these songs are just horrible. Really can make a list from just Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, and Luke Bryan songs, they've put out some stinkers. Pretty much all of the remixes with rappers/R&B artists have been garbage as well.

But to be fair, a lot of the legends putting out songs lately(George and Garth in particular) have put out some crappy songs too. I love Garth and was stoked he's back on tour and seeing him next month, but his new single is pretty crappy.

Love that Eric Church "forces" being country when the dude is from NC and went to school at App State, haha.

He's country. I'd actually say he tries more to be anti-pop country to the point of trying to be too Waylon Jennings/Merle Haggard/Johnny Cash in his music than anything.

I tend to not hate on anyone who writes a majority of their own music, that includes Kasey Musgraves, Eric Church, and even early FGL.

Unfortunately so long as it sells it will continue. In many of these songs the fake harmonies and autotuned vocals are horrendously obvious.

i listen pretty much exclusively to country, and have learned to differentiate songs that are catchy with those that are actually country. that said, i also hate luke bryan, jason aldean and any myriad of the "new age" guys who mainly sing about girls in daisy dukes on a tailgate. i do really like justin moore though, although he tends to fit into the aforementioned category.

I can forgive Brad Paisley, for the simple fact that he can make any guitar his bitch. Same with Keith Urban.

Another gripe I have, and its something that is as old as country music videos. Why does everybody have to strum an acoustic? I think its great that you know C, G, and F, and you want to show that skill off to everybody, but it isn't necessary. Just sing, if that is what you're good at.
