UNC's offense has been pretty great all year. Against Duke, from what I saw, their D was better...but Duke also had a few unforced turnovers. That's what we'll have to avoid. Take care of the ball. Run the ball. Keep their O off the field.

But they scare me a lot...just seems like a really bad match up for us even if UNC isn't particularly good.

This is a strange game because I can see so many scenarios. I can see UNC easily putting up 50+ points on us while we struggle offensively. I can also see us putting tremendous pressure on UNC's QB Williams and winning by a comfortable margin. I can also see a tight competitive game which is what im hoping for.

Fucking crazy that if UNC had pulled out a victory in their game with GT earlier this season, they would be playing for a spot in the ACC championship against us. That is how mediocre the Coastal is. Both Miami and Duke have folded like beach chairs the past two weeks.

Expect us to start out with a strong drive early using the hurry-up offense. Then we move away from that and hardly do anything for roughly 2 quarters. UNC will have a steady stream of offense all game with Williams making an occasional mistake that might lead to a defensive TD for us. Our points will either come in garbage time or defensively. Final will be something around 45 - 21 in favor of The Cheats.

Their run defense is the worst I've seen in years...why teams dont just pound it down their throats I have no idea.

ECU had the right idea...run and gun and let their defense suck it up.

The key is to let your defense do just enough to hold them back on a few drives and out score them on every possession.

We can easily win this game if the offense plays like they did against Wake Forest.

^Yeah I was really encouraged by the offense vs Wake. Wak is terrible, but what was encouraging was that we actually had a game plan (run the ball and impose our will) and stuck to it throughout. Seems like we haven't done that many times throughout the season. I'd love to see a similar game plan vs UNC. We should be able to easily run the ball against them. No need to ask Jacoby to re-create his first half vs FSU. Just take care of the ball, and run it down their throats.

I know it doesnt transfer but

Wake beat V tech..in what was an ABYSMAL game...and Wake's D actually played well.
V tech beat Duke...Duke lost to UNC

That tells me that we can easily beat UNC if our defense makes a stand or two. I've never seen as many turnovers in a game as that UNC Dook game.

If we can run the ball and establish a run game that leads into a passing game we will be fine and win by 2 TDs

Our D has looked better lately (not counting the GT game since their offense is different animal altogether). The competition has been markedly worse...WF, Syracuse, even against Louisville our D looked improved. But maybe the D has started to turn a corner and become more reliable. Of course, UNC's O is gonna be really tough to slow down. Like you said, we'll need a few early stops and nice, long drives (that end in TDs, not FGs).

I'll be at the game. Tickets were ~$40...not too bad at all. Hopefully it won't be too cold. Speaking of...haven't been to Chapel Hill in several years. Any ideas on where to park? I know there isn't much tailgating scene, but we'd like to at least find a spot where we can drink some beers and spread out a bit.

Only common opponent with a different result was GT, and they barely pulled that one out. Virginia and Pitt were also close wins for them. Maybe they are the kind of team that's good at winning close games, but they have given up 34 or more points 7 times in 11 games.

I'm not overconfident in our defensive ability to win this game, but I feel like we still have a pretty good chance. I think we can hang 40 points on them but it will come down to special teams/field position.

(For comparison, we've given up 34+ points 4 times. FSU, Clemson, and GT are all kind of expected to do that, and the 4th was ODU when we were still figuring things out early. We've allowed less than 25 points in 5 games, UNC has done that ONCE)

let's see...just going off memory we were favored in all OOC games and favored vs Wake. Think we've been the underdogs in every other game. So 5-0 as favorites (i think) and 1-5 as underdogs this year

^^^^ IDK what face value is, but I bought my tickets for $39 each, which seems to be pretty good for this game. At CF, this game is usually $60-ish. I also dong feel like haggling with any fuckin UNC fans.

Also, fwiw, our 5 losses are to the top 5 teams in ESPN' ACC power rankings, and our 2 wins are vs the bottom 2 teams. UNC is currently ranked 6th. Take away the rivalry element for a moment, this would be our 'best' win of our season.
