I purchased a Porter Cable polisher. Any suggestions on what brand polish, compound, wax to try out?
I'm leaning towards trying Adams 2 step paint correction.

I've used Adams, was not impressed.
Go to Autogeek and pick up a few 5.5" pads. The 6.5" pads overpower the machine. An orange (for heavy), a few whites (for polishing and wax), and a grey/blue (for wax or sealant).
I like Menzerna and Optimum. I havent kept up with modern (ie: in the last 2yrs) products, so there may be other brands that are better now, but Menzerna and Optimum are still what I use. 11/30/2014 6:35:02 PM |

I went with Meguiars professional M105 compound and M205 Polish. Haven't decided on pads, I've seen a lot of people saying the hex logic pads are the way to go. Hex logic orange and hex logic white. 12/1/2014 7:28:13 AM |

So why did you ask for suggestions, receive suggestions from a retired professional detailer, and go buy something totally different? 12/1/2014 9:31:17 AM |

No I ask for suggestions on multiple forums, guys I know, and did a ton of youtube research. I ordered my stuff on black Friday during Amazon's flash sales, so his advice is noted, but late. 12/1/2014 9:38:30 AM |

^ Completely agree. I use M105/M205 on my car and I've been happy with the results. For the money, I think they're as good as you'll get. 12/7/2014 2:23:30 PM |

I've used 0000 steel wool in the past for tough and old water spots on windows. 12/11/2014 9:18:14 AM |
