Caleb has an issue with off the ball defense. Has been that way since beginning of the season. He loses his man way too often. Still love the way he plays. Cody is very heady. Seems to make the right play almost every time. Gonna enjoy them while they're here

Caleb does deserve his own thread. I was a fan of him last year as his basketball IQ for a freshman impressed me, and he was a very good passer. However, his shooting has really improved and so has his defense.Glad he made the sophomore jump.

Cody deserves his own thread. He played well for a guy who has been a PG for all of like 6 months. He may not drop bombs like Caleb, but he's very good. Plus we play our best when both of them are on the floor.

Bucknell sucked at defense today, but we did what we should do every game, i.e. just let Caleb, Cat, and Rowan take 80% of the shots. If Rowan is off, Cat and Caleb should get 75% of the shots.

They’d probably be a very good fit for Keatts. Long, athletic, etc. Caleb was a solid shooter. They were pretty good and a good coach could’ve helped em more.

Caleb averages 19.6 points on 46% 3 shooting. Cody averages 12.8 points and 6.2 rebounds.

And Nevada at 18-3 would beat the brakes off us. KenPom has them 18th.

Gottfried chose Maverick Rowan, a volume shooter with no other discernable basketball skills over two long, athletic two-way wings (one of whom had proven he was a better shooter than Rowan). That seriously hurt his depth last year. I think with the Martin's, the 2017 team would have won 20+ games and Gottfried wouldn't have been fired.

Cody never really had a chance to succeed at State, first with the injuries and then Gottfried trying to use him as a PG because he couldn't build a damn roster.

I guess I'm glad it worked out the way it did, coaching-wise, but it sucks that two homegrown ACC caliber players had to leave to make it happen.

^^Are they playing together? That was the really big issue to them. They wanted to be on the court together and not sub in and out for each other. The problem was their games were pretty identical, so one had to backup the other.

their games are not identical. caleb, for example, averages nearly 6 3PT attempts/game. Cody averages 1. that disparity was similar at State as well. caleb averages 32 mpg, cody averages 34. so they're playing a ton together
