Hello All!

ASU grad that just moved into the area! An Internet search led me to your website (I became interested in NC State after your basketball coach moved on to head our program) and I see there's a lot going on. Wanted to check in to see if there's any ASU fans or grads out there I can connect with.

Ok to answer the poor guy's question, there is one person that follows ASU basketball because of an unhealthy obsession with Herb Sendek. The majority of the fan base was glad to see him leave, so that's about it for ASU basketball.

As for football, it's all NC State. With that being said, this is still a fairly interesting place for general sports banter

Awesome! I have mixed feelings about Sendek, and we're not having a great year this year. Getting embarassed by the Wildcats was definitely a low point. I was able to go to a local bar called Sammy's yesterday to watch the Colorado game and saw some major improvements, but I don't think we'll cause a spark this year. I'm not crazy about getting into the coaching carousel conversations.

Football was really decent this year and I see a bright future for our program. In fact the last two years have been solid, so I'm looking forward until next year.

Pretty big on the Cardinals and Diamondbacks as well.

to be honest, I don't know anything about ASU aside from the basketball program

I won't be able to provide anything to conversations about the football, baseball, or golf programs

I mean, I don't see any reason to give Sendek any contract extensions or anything, but I'm not sure when he's due, either. I haven't been very impressed with any of our seasons outside of anything Harden had to do with.

basketball is an afterthought at ASU. if Herb can run a clean program and win between 18-25 games per year, it's a success. he may not win 18 this year, but they'll be close

if Love or Anderson wanted to improve the bball program, they would have fired Herb two years ago and they'd consider demolishing Wells Fargo. it is seriously the worst arena in America

Admittedly I think you're right. I never went to many games in college but that was a long time ago. When we hired Sendek in 2006 it was a relatively exciting time, and making the NCAA's was a thrill, but I don't think they're making the proper investments in the program.

gotta pound it down low. Jacobson and Goodman could have huge games if the pick and roll is working. not impressed with Cal's big men

but Cal's guards can score like crazy. if Holder/Justice and Blakes can even play marginal defense and hold Cal's guards at or slightly below their season average, I think the Devils should be fine

the wild cards are Gilling and Barnes. if their 3's are dropping early, ASU should win easily

first point: Jacobsen and Goodman each scored 9 points
second point: ASU's guards held Cal's guards 25 points below their season averages
third point: Barnes and Gilling combined for 22 points and the bench alone made 8 3-pointers
fourth point: ASU won easily
