Anyone interested in starting a league? I haven't made up my mind on this game or not yet but I figure it's worth trying out all of the options.

I don't think it costs money. Maybe "coins" which you earn just by playing. I've only had it since yesterday, I haven't quite figured it all out yet.

Well it's a freemium game. There are some card packs you can only buy with "madden cash", which costs real money.

But it's pretty fun I guess. The servers can be shitty some times though.

I played it "this season" for about 2 weeks before I gave up. Graphics are nice and everything, but you're not actually playing other people in realtime so that kind of sucks. Also the controls simply don't transition well from a console to a mobile device. You're talking about a game where you use a dozen buttons on a controller on XBox, for example, and trying to simplify it to touch screen controls. Doesn't work well.

Yeah, it's oversimplified. I'm finding it way too easy to score on the computer no matter what the difficulty/team rating is. I also don't like that as a defender you can't make any moves to get around lineman. The special move indicator doesn't come on until you are close to the quarterback or the ball has already been thrown. Special teams are also poorly done, there's never any blocking on returns.

I think the worst of it is the random team members. I wanted to play as Cam Newton but I have no idea how to obtain him.

Gameloft's NFL Pro is a better game but I don't think it's kept up compatibility with newer operating systems.

You can probably buy any player on the auction house. But there also might be like 4 different versions of Cam. The app is basically just a standalone Madden Ultimate Team game mode. And I know it's much easier for them to program an alternating turn system that doesn't require both players to be online at the same time, but not being able to play against live people just kind of ruins it. At least after awhile. The challenges keep things interesting but it gets pretty monotonous after awhile.

I play it, but I can't imagine spending money on it. With the amount of trophies you can get and then trade for gold players, plus random rewards (I opened the game and had a free pack with Tom Brady and Richard Sherman waiting for me), I don't see a point in spending real money.

Everybody gets that Brady/Sherman pack, and they get downgraded to like 80 overall players next week. They did the same thing at Thanksgiving with deion sanders.

It's gotten kind of boring lately, but the holiday/super bowl/whatever special events keep it interesting enough for me I guess. I'm really just trying to get a 99 overall team. Then I'll quit.
