So they've announced that Ryan Reynolds is going to play Deadpool in the continuing Marvel Universe movies. My question is, is he going to be the mute guy he ended up being from X-Men Origins? Or is he going to be the mouthy Ryan Reynolds before they messed him up?

Or neither?

1. Small but important distinction - Deadpool is not in the "continuing Marvel Universe", it's owned by Fox, so it's in the X-Men universe (Colossus is in the Deadpool movie?), but will still (mostly) be standalone.

From what I've seen/heard/read (hope) I think they are just going to pretty much ignore what was done in Origins Wolverine, and if they do acknowledge it at all it will be in a 4th wall breaking type way (that deadpool is known for), to say how fucking bad it was

Well, yeah, until he did that crazy whirlwind thing with the swords... Deadpool would instead just get shot 50 times and then heal back. LOL.

But, taking bets now! Morena Baccarin as who, exactly? I'd be thrilled if she was Vanessa Carlyle, but I suspect too many people would confuse Copycat with Mystique. Damn shame, because she really is Wade's best love interest.

Okay so in terms of movie rights, I guess Fox owns the rights to Deadpool? Since the horrible version of Deadpool showed up in X-Men Origins: Wolverine? So I guess that means that any of the X-men characters could show up?

oh man. Saw this last night. Seriously the funniest movie I've seen in a long time. Definitely the funniest action/superhero movie ever. Loved all the jokes and references he made to previous bad movies/budget/etc. And Colossus looked great for once.
