a first post worthy of the women's NIT

I searched for seeding numbers and not even the NIT website had it. Looking at the bracket it appears we are a 15 seed but that doesn't make much sense to me to be that low since we were on the NCAAT bubble just 2 weeks ago.

NC State 16-14, 7-9 ACC (11th), #81 RPI
ETSU 21-11, 11-3 SoCon (2nd), #109 RPI,

Wolfpack Women upset #10 Duke 72-59 3 weeks ago, but have otherwise had a meh season. Pretty much destroyed by the other 6 ranked opponents played.

ETSU has no defining win. Lost to #9 UNC and to #23 Chattanooga 3 times including the SoCon tournament championship game (which to their credit, did go to overtime).

There isn't seeding in the Women's NIT. We're playing at ETSU because the renovations have already begun at Reynolds.

They set up the bracket to be very regional.

isn't the womens NIT "seeding" based on highest RPI (higher = home game)? at any rate, I read because of the renovations, the women will have to play on the road for the whole tournament. no pee and see arena for them.

When you tell the WNIT you'll play in the tourney, you also tell them whether or not you'll be open to hosting. We said we'll play, but no to hosting a game because of the renovations and we're not forking over the money to use PNC Arena for a WNIT game. We already lose money as it is if we played a WNIT game in Reynolds. They group teams regionally and look at who has said they'll host and form the bracket from there. ECU beat Radford tonight, so beat ETSU and we'll be playing in Greenville.

Yeah its all done as regionally as possible to keep the cost down...they probably have to do that just to get teams to participate. Its a little more like the Mens NIT was 15 years ago when the only factors involved in determining who hosts were your teams ability to draw a crowd and access to a building.

^^I do wonder IF we made it to the championship game (which I believe is played on campus too) if we would bid to play the game in PNC if it was available...probably not?

Temple 18-16, 12-6 AAC (4th), #143 RPI

Both teams lost to Florida State and Tulane. Temple has no defining wins on the season, while NC State still has the signature domination of #10 Duke.

The AAC is terrible outside of #1 UConn and #25 South Florida, as compared to the 5 ACC teams in the top 25.

There are 12 ACC teams with higher RPIs than Temple.

Lost 80-79 on a buzzer beater in overtime. We were up 1 with 19 seconds left, and we let them stand there and run the clock without challenging them to move around.

Should have fouled, make them earn it on free throws, and if they made it give us those 19 seconds to score.

Terrible ending. In black jerseys, none the less.

Lost by 1 in OT. Was up 4, but Temple hit a 3, and then a turnover gave Temple the last shot. They hit the game winner with under 2 seconds.

The women have done well in black. Won at home vs Clemson and won at ETSU and ECU in black.
