Medela pump-in-style
portable, just get the car charger and battery pack and you can pump wherever you need and it's not huge. also, you can get the nipples for the medela bottles so you can pump and feed while you're out. my wife likes it. the only issue is the flanges are pretty narrow, so you may need to get the larger sized flanges. we got them on amazon. hope this helps!
[Edited on March 19, 2015 at 10:39 AM. Reason : also, check to see if your health insurance will pay for your breast pump. ours did.] 3/19/2015 10:38:21 AM |

Call your insurance company. This should be covered. Medela is the best brand. I can find out the exact model my wife uses.
If you have any serious questions, I can ask my mom, as she is a lactation consultant. 3/19/2015 11:34:23 AM |

You can also ask your pediatrician about renting a medical grade pump. They are much more efficient than the purchase for home use variety and last time my wife used one it was only $35 a month or something like that. 3/19/2015 3:37:46 PM |

My wife got a free one through insurance, apparently it is required to offer one for free these days with insurance. They might try to give you a hand pump model but if you push for it they might upgrade it. If they won't do anything other than hand pump then ask if they will give you a credit to use towards an electric one. These are all things I heard from either my wife or people in our birthing class so I assume they know what they are talking about. 3/19/2015 8:18:49 PM |

We sell Medela and it's been mentioned in this thread and definitely check if your insurance will cover it. 3/20/2015 8:03:19 PM |

I would only eBay a closed system. Hospital grade maybe. Medelas are not closed. We got the Medela personal double electric from our insurance. (UHC) Same motor as the pump in style but no fancy bag and no let down setting. I like it but the Hospital Grade Medela Symphony with premie setting rocked my socks off. We rented it for a few weeks since my guy was early and my milk wasn't coming in. 3/24/2015 9:16:23 AM |
