Will the Panthers make it back to the playoffs? Will the Patriots repeat? Will Rex Ryan do any better in Buffalo? Will Peyton Manning make the best out of what could be his last season in Denver? Will Tim Tebow become the comeback player of the century?
Let's find out. 4/22/2015 4:11:54 PM |

If the Bills get just decent quarterback play they are going to be a very tough team. Unfortunately for them (my team) I don't know if that will happen.

Anyone else think losing the 1st rounder hurts them more than losing Brady?
That's 64 (possibly 80 with the 5th year option) games worth of a quality cost controlled asset vs 4 games worth of, admittedly, a top 5 all time QB. 5/11/2015 7:08:08 PM |
thegoodlife3 All American 39303 Posts user info edit post |
^^ that's exactly what's wrong with all of this
there have been other teams who have broken similar rules and had nothing done to them
it's obvious that after almost a year of being a laughing stock, Goodell is doing this to gain public support because it's the Patriots. losing multiple draft picks over this, especially without a smoking gun, sets a horrible precedent
add the fact that his 1st game back will be against the Colts on Sunday Night Football...

What similar rules have other teams broken? Too bad Goodell never released the Spygate tapes that the NFL "lost". They sure do have a hard on for the Pats!

When both teams are doing the same thing, I don't see how one of them is gaining a competitive advantage over the other. That's not the same as deflating air out of balls to help lead the NFL in fewest fumbles over the last 3 seasons.5/11/2015 7:58:22 PM |

I heard someone on the radio point it out that it helps guys from fumbling too, and then looking at the stats you see the Pats barely ever fumble no matter who is toting the rock.

NFL QB's could still chuck it 50 yards. Accuracy is much more important on 98% of throws.

I thought suspending Greg Hardy for 10 games was him saving face about Ray Rice? You know, since they had nearly identical offenses, whereas beating up women and deflate gate are apples and orangutans.
I'll say again, Goodell is a clown, he is inconsistent as fuck on the penalties he hands out, and he has a habit of just generally screwing around. But if Brady's suspension and the Pats fine and draft pick losses are him trying to make up for anything it's probably the Patriots being accused and found guilty of multiple violations of cheating in the last 10-15 years, and STILL cheating. I just don't get any type of link between this and domestic violence unless it comes out that Brady was beating Giselle

this is going to drive owners against goodell far more than his botching of the ray rice investigation did.
the NFL basically created a story, had an investigation built to prove it, and then made up punishment against even those that the bullshit investigation exonerated. for christ sake, the investigators basically planted words in the ref's mouth so they could then draw a line that actually made the balls improperly inflated. it's amazing how many people read the report and miss the blatant lie in their faces because they're getting their jollies off over seeing the pats knocked down.
the wells report cleared the coaches and the organization and NE still gets hit with a million dollar fine and a 1st round draft pick? what owner is going to let this guy stay in power and put himself in unknown crosshairs?

Sounds like Robert Kraft is the only owner who isn't happy about it, though he clearly knew Brady was guilty which is why his statement was basically "well we didn't know of any wrongdoing, but we'll accept any punishment"

Sean Payton got suspended for a year for something that supposedly was only known about amongst defensive meetings. Too bad, he was in charge and it happened on his watch, so he had to deal with it.

they've been found guilty of one thing and were penalized for it
perceived guilt by the public should have nothing to do with the penalties that are handed out. the NFL commissioned an investigation that found nothing definitive and also absolved the franchise of any wrongdoing yet they still hammered them severely. it doesn't matter how much you hate the team that got hit, it's totally fucked up.5/11/2015 10:27:49 PM |
