Our company uses lync phones (polycom CX600). We have some in a back shop and folks can't hear it ring too well. I've been researching non-analog solutions and i'm having a hard time. I really really don't want to turn that line back to analog to hook some shitty alarm bell.
best i've found is this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000SHRD3C
it uses a external mic/vibration detection and will ring/flash when it senses the phone ringing. Only catch is this thing is sold in the UK and is on the UK power plug 220 shit.
Anything out there im missing? 4/28/2015 7:17:06 PM |

what about adding another phone in a different part of the shop (where people are) and making that extension part of a hunt group so both phones ring simultaneously? 4/30/2015 10:39:53 AM |

we use hunt groups - but imagine just a bunch of grinding machines, etc. It's not really another phone would fix it, it's just they can't hear it when they focused on a grinding machine to look away. 4/30/2015 9:06:03 PM |

is there a phone you can pair your cell phone with via bluetooth so their cell phones in their pockets would ring/vibrate? 4/30/2015 10:15:28 PM |

I have my Samsung paired with my cell phone as a mobile extension so I can take the call on either when my extension rings.
What about something like this? Like Bobby suggested it may be easier to add another station rather than amplify the existing station.
http://www.sitec.ae/VoIP-Peripherals/voip-ceiling-speaker-v2.html http://www.cyberdata.net/support/server/index.html MS Lync shows as supported.
So the sitec.ae linked to cyberdata for the compatibility sheet. http://www.cyberdata.net/products/voip/digitalanalog/strobe/index.html They have a strobe http://www.cyberdata.net/products/voip/digitalanalog/paging_endpoints And multiple paging options.

we COULD do a hunt group to cell phones, but these guys are base techs, hourly, they don't get work cell phones. good idea though. 5/1/2015 8:06:10 AM |

just to note we've reached out directly to polycom (perk of a fortune top 50) - they have a solution they say. we'll see. 5/1/2015 8:07:07 AM |

Thanks for leaving us hanging OP.
Side note, anyone have an idea for handset amplification for voip (to the PBX) phones? Tried a few binaural headsets from jabra and sennheiser and none seemed to work. Separate RJ11 headset plug available...maybe the only way is to put some kind of old person amplifier between the base and the handset? 5/27/2015 8:13:36 PM |

not much progress, still refuse to go analog. Still got feelers out.
^ that would be ideal. Something as a go between - inbetween the base and headset. I would even be ok if it needed 120volt aux power to function.
two things we've found:
http://www.busylight.com/ - this doesn't work for a CAP phone setup but is great for a PC user in a loud environment or someone in general who wants people to know when they are on the lync phone with prescence lighting. Kinda cool.
this seems the best option so far: 8180 Algo - http://www.algosolutions.com/products/Audible-and-Visual-Alerting/8180-sip-audio-alerter.html
This requires some services to be installed on the server and im having a hard time trying to get the server guys involved so this may not be the best option right now unless I plan to start a big project off with it to get them involved. http://www.algosolutions.com/sw-download/lync/User%20Guide.pdf
