Looks like Chelsea are gonna get the ultimate rent boy, Falcao, on loan for next season.

If Liverpool value Sterling at £50m why not pay him what a player valued at that is worth?

Or just wait until oil money throws down £40-50m anyway because they are desperate.

I'd rather have like 25 + Dzeko because they will fuck up any possible transfer with more money

Embarrassing that two quality players like Dzeko and Jovetic get basically no run. They are too good to be oil team benchwarmers. I'd love to see Dzeko get regular first team action again and he would contrast Sturridge nicely.

Dzeko makes way too much sense for Liverpool for it to even be approached. Doubt he'd be game anyway.

Don't rate Dzeko at all. Very overrated in my opinion. The fact that city brought in Bony to warm the bench instead of Dzeko says it all. Wish city didn't have Aguero, they would be bricking it with their current strikers.

I find myself in agreement with this statement.

Also, ^ if City didn't have Aguero they'd just sign some other world-class frontman.

Now that you mention it, I wish Man U didn't have Wayne Rooney, they would be pretty toothless without him.

Lol at Jack Grealish pics.

Criticize Raheem for getting legally high or Wilshere for having a smoke all you want but at least they have never been caught passed out in the middle of an active street...

Grealish is being criticized for it.... Let's not forget this is a 19 year old during the off season enjoying himself on holiday, not in the middle of the season.

Get drunk and go crazy. Just don't black out in the middle of the street.

I don't think anyone should care if athletes get high or drunk but this kind of thing is one step beyond that IMO..

I mean yea but he is 19 and clearly on a bender. At 19 with that kind of money I would probably be getting into all sorts of crazy shenanigans, especially after working my ass off and staying fit for 9 months. Should have been more careful for sure but he made a mistake and he will learn from it like we all usually do.

Falcao to Chelsea. Thank god he didn't go to Liverpool. I don't think I would have been able to handle the inevitable Falcao hattrick at Old Trafford if he was with pool.

it kinda sucks how semi-elite strikers end up playing second fiddle (and largely just benchwarming) at elite clubs

I mean, it's just the nature of football, I suppose...but it's too bad. Just on the basis of personnel aesthetics, I preferred the days when the 4-4-2 was standard.

or I don't like this one particular implication of the 4231, I guess you could say

FACHTS!

I like 4-2-3-1 as a system. If you have a good midfield that nullifies your possession in that area a 4-4-2 is basically useless. Modern football is more about having flair players behind your main striker. A switch to a false 9 system has worked wonders for a lot of teams who are able to effectively pull it off.

Arsenal, United, Everton, Spurs, and Chelsea away before October 31... don't think Rodgers will make it long next season. And City away the next month.

Harry Kane can rot in North London, extremely overrated. I hope to god that isn't the kind of player we are looking at. Fuck Levy as well.

Lol at City trying to buy home grown talent. If Sterling is worth 40 million then Ronaldo is probably at about 500 million right now. What a joke.

what do you think of City's offer? Pool going to take it? 40 million for a player who doesn't want to be there and has proven to be a huge distraction could be decent. He only has two years left on his contract too right?

Liverpool's start is ridiculously hard but on the flip side the return fixtures will be after January at home which is helpful. So Rodgers gets the fall for the bad performances and then the new manager gets all the praises as he saves pool in front of the kop?

@MirrorFootball: Liverpool to reject fresh £40m Manchester City approach for Raheem Sterling http://t.co/QnWkBJTp1o http://t.co/RBJhff5OX3

Curios if it's Liverpool or the player? Man City is desperate and can go higher but it's no secret he loves London and Chelsea will throw money around like drunks too..

[Edited on June 17, 2015 at 10:18 AM. Reason : I got Raheem in a straight swap with giroud on Fifa15.. Do it Arsene]

I think they're waiting for Chelsea to make a bid. And I think he's definitely gone if the bids are already at 40m. It's still pretty early.

I am amazed liverpool are rejecting 40 million. Let him go rot on city's bench. Win win situation I think from a pool perspective.

^^ Lehmann was one of the best keepers in the world at the time. Certainly on par with Cech if not better in 05-06. Lehmann made a stupid mistake in the final but to be fair what was he to do? Eto'o would have certainly scored that goal. The loss is squarely on Lehmann's shoulders though I agree. Still don't think it takes away from the fact that he was a key contributor to Arsenal's run to the final. He was the CL keeper of the year if I am not mistaken.

Terribly harsh on Jens to say you would have won the CL without him, especially considering how big of a part he played in getting Arsenal to the final.

Which young players are you lot excited for next season from your squads? I will start off:

- Jesse Lingard. It is make or break time for Lingard. At 22 he won't get any more chances at United if he can't step up and take them. I think he could have had a defining season last year if he hadn't gotten injured. LVG will give him a shot early on I believe, will be good to see him take it.

- Andreas Periera. After Pogba and Morrison left this is the biggest prospect we have at United. I think Pereira can have a breakout season like Januzaj and it would be good to see.

- Luke Shaw. Huge potential and largely played well whenever he was fit. Hopefully isn't another Phil Jones that is often injured. I want to see Shaw get a whole season without injury.

Wilson and Januzaj stagnated. Perhaps unfair to say wilson stagnated but they need more playing time. Perhaps its time for Wilson to go on loan to a side like Bournemouth. If we can get through the CL qualifier there will be plenty of fixtures though. Hopefully some of these young players can take their chances.

Pritchard is the obvious choice here.

He really impressed at Brentford last season and MP has been talking him up recently saying he expects Alex to compete for a starting spot in the senior team. Shame he got hurt and can't play in the U21's now.

yea I heard he did well at Brentford. Who do the spurs have at attacking mid? Can Pritchard make a case for a spot? He is 22 already so much in the same position as Lingard. Both players need to impress next season or will likely be offloaded to smaller teams.
