just a hunch"

So for the record, you are against police targeting high crime areas because it could be perceived as racist?

Quote :
"If it were slave times, you'd be the guy saying "but these slaves don't need freedom, they have food and shelter right here! They should just need to stop complaining!"

If it were revolutionary war times you'd be the guy saying "these taxes aren't that bad, look at all the King provides us. You people are fighting over nothing!"

Or if it were the suffrage era, you'd be the woman saying "we don't really need to vote do we? With all this house work and child rearing, we don't have time to follow the issues anyway!"."

So because I disagree with the liberal race narrative and generally support police officers, I would hypothetically support slavery/sexism centuries ago? Solid post m8.

how many times do you have to read that minorities get arrested at much higher rates for drug possession than white people, despite usage rates being almost identical, for it to sink in?

simple possession of marijuana has barely any correlation to high crime areas. they were targeting minorities at a higher rate because they could. there's a reason they stopped the program.

also, there's a pretty big difference in "patrolling" and "targeting"

I think he is trying to say that you appear to be OK with the status quo. That there are no race/bias issues so nothing needs to be fixed. Blacks just need to try harder and they will be fine.

I think i've already explained it but you keep ignoring the explanation. Since police have to patrol high crime areas at an increased intensity to prevent serious crimes they are more likely to catch those living in these high crime areas committing petty crimes....

If the police patrolled sub-urbia at the same frequency i'm sure the statistics would be more even.

nvm i forgot. The mean po-po just hates black people

are these areas deemed "high crime" because they are heavily patrolled by the police or are they heavily patrolled by the police because they are high crime? Cops know they can ticket and receive revenue from poor people because they cant fight it. If the cops did a balls out press on Wilmington Beach they would arrest a metric fuck ton of white kids with drugs on them. But then they would have tons of white kids parents breathing down their necks.

When the cops in NYC had their hissy fit and stopped ticketing for minor offenses there was an article about the projects in Bed Stuy. Some people were interviewed and they were happy because they could get to work on time without being harassed by the cops for pointless shit. I know a guy who have been pulled over and ticketed for having that plastic rim around their license. It was put their by a car dealership. He couldn't fight it and just paid it because he would have had to take the day off of work and paying it cost less.

hmmm i've never heard of Wilmington Beach....

I know I was at Wrightsville beach this past weekend and saw the police activly busting white kids balls for violating the
cigarette and no alcohol ordinances on the beach..

If you read the article that i posted on the other page you'd note that a lot of the arrest warrants going out where do to folks getting
violations then failing to show up to court or pay the fine. I guess if you are African American you should be exempt from laws requiring
working headlights, liability insurance, a valid drivers license (a bottle of booze works right!)

A white cop only pulls over an African American because they are racist!

IIRC, the cop involved in the Sam Dubose murder asked Sam Subose 'what that was on the floor?'

It's not like the cop asked him for his license, and Sam Dubose handed him a bottle of liquor instead.

What kind of idiot would drive around with a gin bottle filled with air freshner. Even if this is true it is like asking for trouble.

Wrightsville beach! Regardless that place is a hole.

Also beers and cigs on the beach is not what I'm saying. If they camped out and searched every person at the bars they would find lots of coke.

Must have been some awesome air freshener if he went through the trouble of storing some in a bottle.

I wonder if it was just his way of being snarky with the cops, since he got pulled so much?

I've driven with empty airplane bottles and open pints in my car.

And I'm pretty sure most of the dudes checking out at the gas station at 5:30 PM aren't waiting until they get home to crack their freezer-fresh 22, 24, and now 25-ounce beers--Budweiser looking out with the extra ounce!

This Dubose guy coulda enjoyed a nip every now and then or maybe he dug air freshener and repurposing shit. It doesn't matter.

I mean, they found weed in his car, too. So he was a clearly a threat to us all...spraying his fancy air freshener all around after he smoked those marijuana cigarettes.

I hadn't looked into it. But, if you're wondering why somebody would travel with air freshener in a liquor bottle, this is the outfit he was wearing the day before he got shot:

So if he's affiliated--beyond the motorcycle club he started--he was seriously hilarious about it.

His woman in that photo claims he liked to wear ridiculous stuff to get people to laugh. He also had 13 children...that is, he was the kinda guy who never denied paternity--and the kinda guy who often got picked as a father.

This dude definitely traveled to the beat of a different drum.

He traveled with air freshener in a liquor bottle. And I think it's awesome.

The areas are high crime because a lot of criminals commit crimes there. Increased police patrols do not cause crime, they cause crime to be detected and stopped. Crime is bad, no matter what race the criminal.

Quote :

And WHY is using drugs a crime? Drugs are detrimental to people, stopping drugs in a community HELPS. When cops arrest people for using drugs, they are helping them. That is why its the law. When cops arrest people for breaking the law, they are doing their job. If cops deserted low-income neighborhoods, the liberals would complain about rampant drug use and how society has abandoned them.

^^don't try to downplay the war on drugs by bringing up pot; over half the prison population consists of drug related offenses, but less than 1% of those are for marijuana only offenses. one tenth of one percent are first time offenders.

If it is arbitrary, all drugs should be legalized right? I should be able to sell Meth to high school students? Those evil racist cops should let that guy on the corner peddle Heroin to teenagers, because Heroin isn't inherently "good" or "bad".

I'm sure a straw man said the war on drugs was a great success.

You guys are right though, drugs aren't "bad". It's all so arbitrary... I mean getting addicted to meth is a great way to escape the cycle of poverty.

It's such a shame that racist cop arrested that Heroin dealer, I'm sure he would have been a great father to his kids he never met before.

Are all drugs bad or only the ones deemed bad by society?

Also I not saying heroin and meth are not destructive substances. I am saying that the way we handle the users of these drugs is incorrect and causes severe damage to many poor neighborhoods.

When someone looks at cocaine and crack they see one drug to be a rich white person drug and the other to be a poor black person drug. They are essentially the same drug yet we are not arresting and jailing half of Morgan Stanley's trading floor any time soon.

Maybe she was bad that a mean Seattle police officer have her a speeding ticket and blames it in racial discrimination.

How was she not arrested? I'm assuming the DNC was scared of this being interpreted as being racist and or would start a riot

Yeah it is pretty white up here but there is more than enough tolerance for all races. There is minimal "hood culture" too from the African American culture which really helps with creating positive inter-racial relations.

No I agree with you. Getting drugs off the street is bad. Drugs play no role in the cycle of poverty. Not only should drugs be legal, we should hand them out with Welfare. What gives the government the right to tell me how much Meth I can or can't distribute? It's all arbitrary. Drug laws are just in place so racist cops have something to plant on dead minority suspects.
