No, if Hillary wins, it's because she got more delegates than Bernie. Overall, she's had a lot more votes cast for her than Sanders, but because of the current system that awards proportional delegates, it's been a closer contest. Once she wins NY, WI, MD, and PA this conversation will be over.

most of those leads are because they are late races where the machine has convinced people she is the inevitable nominee way too early. it all goes back to those soutehrn primaries all happening early on. if we started with western saturday and western tuesday before super saturday and finished with super tuesday, the narrative could have been more difficult to spin.

I listed those states - states she WON - as a rebuttal to

That's SIX states outside the bible belt that she won (and despite your objections, yes, Ohio is outside of the Bible Belt). You're the one that decided to #wellactually about how close they were.

Extremely weak means you don't win, not that you "only" won by 3 or 4 or 14 points. Because if her winning all of those states like that is "extremely weak" you better start coming up with more powerful adjectives than "extremely" to describe Bernie's even weaker candidacy.

It doesnt exactly work both ways. The election was only handed to one candidate. Most of the country doesnt evem know who bernie is yet. Winning close with all of the establishment endorsements on your side is indeed EXTREMELY WEAK

legit question - do you other bernie supporters get pissed whenever Earl opens his mouth and lays down some colossal horseshit like this? do you feel like his tin foil theories detract from your overall argument, or do you embrace what he has to say?

she was tied by someone who you've said doesn't have a chance in 5 of those states, so only Arizona is a worthwhile rebuttal

that's just pretty basic logic

The Bernie supporters (not just in this thread) are about as delusional about his chances to win the primary as they are about the feasibility of his socialist economic agenda.

I gained my reputation as a troll in sports talk for saying gottfried couldnt retain players. Most of my so called trolls turned out to be correct.

Also if you think im a troll for calling out our oligarchal political system, youre wrong again unless jimmy carter is also a troll.

For those of you interested in a pro-Bernie argument. I will just post articles now since goaliex is wondering if anyone else feels the same sort of bern. It would be silly to put all bernie supporters into one box so have a few reads. I also went to a phone bank event last week and heard a lot more extreme views than the ones I have. Of course, I didn't just start calling those people names but I've heard bernie supporters say things like more people have already voted for bernie than hillary and the un should be called in to monitor the rest of the primaries.

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2016/03/sanders-campaign-makes-its-case-winning-nomination
Quote :
""Her grasp now on the nomination is almost entirely on the basis of victories where Bernie Sanders did not compete," said senior strategist Tad Devine. "Where we compete with Clinton, where this competition is real, we have a very good chance of beating her in every place that we compete with her.""
'
I guess the senior strategist is a troll too
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/3/27/1506710/-The-state-with-the-lowest-percentage-of-white-people-in-the-union-just-voted-for-Sanders-70-29
woops, so much for the "bernie can't get the non-white vote" false narrative

Quote :
"Mr. Sanders is also fighting the perception that as an avowed socialist he can’t win in November. “Don’t let anybody tell you that Hillary Clinton is the strongest Democratic candidate to take on the Republicans,” Mr. Sanders told an estimated crowd of 15,000 in the People’s Republic of Seattle. “It is not true.”"

Quote :
"Most Americans still don’t know much about what Mr. Sanders believes, including his desire to return to 1930s tax rates and his sympathy for Communist regimes during the Cold War. His belief in undiluted socialism would be vetted in a general election campaign in a way it hasn’t been in the Democratic primaries."

that sounds familiar. could backfire but usually people learning more information is a good thing
http://www.wsj.com/articles/bernie-sanders-gets-no-respect-1459117222

Quote :
"Andrew Tyndall provided the breakdown by network of Sanders' 10 minutes of coverage, via email [emphasis added]:

CBS Evening News: 6.4 minutes

NBC Nightly News: 2.9 minutes

ABC World News: 0.3

But how can they be? ABC News, for instance, clearly devoted more than 20 seconds to covering the Democratic debates, which featured news of Sanders, right?

As Tyndall explained to me, the number "counts stories filed about the Sanders campaign or from the Sanders campaign. Obviously he is mentioned in passing in other coverage of the Democratic field overall, specifically his performance in the debates.""

Also, imagine how much of an impact it could have if they simply reported the actual delegate count instead of showing unfairly skewed graphics to drive home the message that its over before people actually vote.

Most of the clinton supporters I talk to say they just don't want trump as their main reason for voting for Hillary so information is the biggest thing. All they have to know is that Bernie is actually more electable.

lastly, ny is already experiencing a heavy dose of Arizona style voter suppression.

a bunch of people being lazy and putting off changing their party alignment until the last minute and then not being able to get it done because the servers couldn't handle it isn't voter fraud. it's bernie babies looking to blame anyone but themselves for their fuckup

and 3 or 4 anecdotes doesn't prove systemic fraud, either

It happened to people who have been Democrats or Republicans their entire adult lives.

it's the natural evolution of a BernieBro. The BernieBros were the ones all up in your face with half a dozen memes a day on facebook.

Now, they've evolved in to the people who complain daily about how there is widespread voter fraud. Or that large swaths of the country shouldn't have a voice in selecting the nominee for the party. Or that the order of the primaries were unfairly slanted against the guy they like. The list of "injustices" goes on and on.

Sure, they can still bro up, like when Bernie wins Washington State or a bird lands on his podium.

But for the most part, they spend their days crying about shit. Hence, Bernie Babies.

The good thing about the rest of the states is they're spread out, plenty of time to campaign and plenty of time for Clinton's favorability ratings to drop further

I mean damn, she'll be in the 30s next month. Already the lowest ever for a Dem presidential candidate.

Californians aren't as progressive as people think. Lots of NIMBY's and BANANA (build absolutely nothing anywhere near anyone) folk. Also, the Central Valley might as well be Kansas given how redneck and ignorant most folks out there are. People rag on the Bay Area for being super liberal, but it's really not. Most people here love money and are pretty OK with the status quo, myself included.

One of the problems is that everyday people seem to think they would personally lose money under bernies tax plan. Ujustwait just hinted at it but its simply not true unless you make 250k. Once people find that out, they will switch to bernie. Its a shame elections dont start with everyone knowing the facts.

Using the calculator on VOX, my taxes wouldn't really change with Clinton, but they'd go up slightly with Sanders. And no, I don't make anywhere near 250k.

^^
your taxes would only go up if Medicare for all went into effect. And then you would not be paying for insurance, deductibles, copays, or prescriptions.
