I run on super low quality on a laptop


You need a pretty beefy PC to run it high quality, I believe.

I've been trying out the Survival of the Fittest gamemode. It drops up to 100 players into the island and you have 1-2 hours to see who is the last person standing. You have to escape the initial cluster of people at the middle of the map and run into the wilderness to craft weapons, armor, and tame dinos to help you defend & attack. There are random events that happen, such as dinos raining from the sky, acid rain, and guns in supply drops. Makes for a fun time, but I only last about 2 - 10 mins each time because I get a little too careless.

I have you on steam already, I think I'm badup on there.

I was pretty confused when I spawned in to what appeared to be someone's base with no way for me to escape. Is that supposed to happen or just a glitch?

If you joined a server ("Join Ark"), a lot of times they are so built out already that someones base engulfs and entire spawn area. It happens. Play local to start and it will be your own private island, then you can hunt for servers once you get the hang of everything. I'll sync up with you when we both are on and we can try out a server.

There are PVE servers where everyone can work together to build and tame, without players hurting each other. Then the PVP servers are just a brutal experience where someone can come along and take everything you have, but the rush and constant fear is kind of fun. Once you get experienced enough to do raids, that is when it really becomes good times.

AAaaaannnnd almost immediately got stuck between rocks and couldn't move or do damage. Can't kill yourself and I had settings so food and water doesn't drain. Updated those settings, so I have to basically wait ~20 mins to die now. Fucking stupid
