Yeah, statistically

I'd like to see what it looks like if you throw out the OOC schedule we had

^If you take the OOC out, our offense looks significantly worse too.

Offense played the same quality as our defense over the course of the season, our offense was just a much bigger letdown this year. People are just too caught up in the last 2 games(UNC and Miss. St.) because those 2 offense crushed our defense early, but don't forget our offense put them in terrible positions with turnovers and 3-and-outs.

Our offense put up 13 against Louisville and VT, 2 games we could have won if our offense showed up at all. Esp. the Louisville game, that was horrible.

yeah this is the biggest thing, imo.

yes, our D was not particularly good this year. but the offense wasn't great either. and the offense is what was supposed to be better...it definitely didn't live up to its potential imo

Grinnage has declared for the draft... There went out our only decent receiver...

We better figure out this OC situation fast... If Chip Kelly negotiations aren't working out, we need to move forward, get somebody on board before national signing day.

If we had won both of these games (and still lost to MSU) then I wouldn't be complaining for the body of work that was 2015. But we played poorly and shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly with penalties and instead lost them both.

Spinning stats is one thing but you guys are just making shit up now.

22nd in offensive efficiency
77th in defensive efficiency

You'd have to be an fool to even try to make the argument. Our offense was pretty good and our defense was TERRIBLE. Its not even CLOSE. Not to mention we lost our two best offensive players one right before the Ville and VT games surprise surprise

When we had a stable of Andre Browns and Toney Bakers, etc, we still weren't doing shit. Quit acting like Shad and Dayes were Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams at Auburn.

Baker and Brown were freaking always injured, and more importantly , in a totally different offense that was not as run game reliant as ours is now.

You can't draw any conclusions from comparing the two.

That's not difficult when you play 4 defacto FCS schools and your conference is the ACC, half of which is laughable.

Clemson and BC are the #2 and #3 defenses in the country. But go on...Keep talking about fcs opponents and just ignore the fact that we put up even bigger numbers against the best defenses in the country.
Quote :

Those rankings are already adjusted for that. Also, the discussion was not that our offense was "so good" (even though it was somewhat prolific). The discussion was that are offense was simply better than our defense and the fact is its not even debatable.
Quote :
"The values are adjusted for strength of schedule and down-weighted for "garbage time""

Go on though...Keep making stuff up.

Eliah Drinkwitz- The invisible ghost who comes into your house on Passover to drink a glass of wine, has become our new Offensive coordinator! Mazel Tov...?

Well He's not Chip Kelly guys- HOWEVER, he's definitely a good young up and comer and has a solid pedigree:

Quote :
"Drinkwitz spent this past season as Boise State's offensive coordinator, helping the Broncos offense average 39 points per game and over 500 yards per game, both totals ranked top-15 nationally."

Quote :
"Drinkwitz is widely regarded as one of the top young offensive minds in all of college football, having coached under Harsin, as well as Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn."

http://www.ktvb.com/story/sports/ncaaf/boise-state/2016/01/11/offensive-coordinator-drinkwitz-leave-boise-state/78652394/

PS: Is that a Calculator watch?? ugh.

It's like Doeren tried to hire the only geek that could out dork his Midwestern douchey douchness.

But at least this guy has the pedigree! I'm happy with the hire.

Good results as an OC.
Regarded as a great recruiter.
Young and looking to move up the ranks.
Proven to be able to work with young QBs.

On paper it's a great hire with a ton of potential. Just have to be patient and see how our guys adapt to his schemes.

Best case scenario he is our Chad Morris and installs a top flight offense and brings in some really good recruits before heading out and we just continue to run the offense when he leaves.

Worse case scenario he is Matt Canada.

because if he doesn't start achieving good results then he'll get fired anyway. also, it's not 100% Doeren's hire - I'm sure Yow had a lot to do with it.

if this guy comes in and ends up getting us a ranked program or something like that and then gets offers elsewhere, are we going to say the success was because of Doeren, or the success was from the OC and make him an offer?

Sounds like Ledford is a serious contender for the OL position.

That would be great, to have a former NFL player and great recruiter on staff. It's even better to know he went to ECU and just turned down the same offer for them so he could come here.

The hire is better than I was expecting honestly. Anyone who comes from the Malzahn tree is fine with me.

Only question is how well he's gonna recruit the SE. But he is from Arkansas and doesn't have an Idaho accent (if that's a thing). Boise St fans say he was their best recruiter. Guess we'll see.

He probably got a raise but he's still getting paid quite a bit less than we were paying Canada.

Think Drink knows he just has to make us better than we were the last 2 years(really not that hard to do, esp. in the passing game), and he'll have major offers thrown at him.

He's basically betting on himself being able to come in, improve our offense the next 2 years and then spring for an OC job at a top 10-15 program or a HC job at a FBS school.

also the significance of not having a boss who you used to be co-offensive coordinator with. (i think this is the big reason why he left)
