Can we start this page off with the positives that I mentioned?

Quote :
"First and foremost, I loved the direction and cinematography that was used throughout this series. The action was filmed to such realistic perfection that at times I could just feel each dirty blow and slash that was flung out. It was filmed in a very similar style that was used masterfully by Nolan in the TDK and TDKR, and I thought that it paid off very well here. One of the problems with some of the action scenes in many recent films and/or series (even Marvel) is that at times they appear to be too choreographed, and come off as a dance as opposed to an actual life or death scenario. This, for example, was one of my only gripes with Marvel’s Daredevil.

I absolutely loved the look and feel of New York and Hell’s Kitchen in this series. The excellent use of lighting and set design created the feeling that the city itself was just more alive and happy at night as opposed to in the day. I could also go on and on about how they set up Jones’ flat as a functional alcoholic in direct juxtaposition to Luke’s. She clearly did not put any interest into her interior design: The walls are blandly painted with no trim or curtains, and there is no noticeable amount of art or pictures hanging. The only thing that she has in her house are empty bottles and her work, because when you get to that level of functional alcoholism, you don’t have any space in your mind to think about anything else.

I also loved the recurring theme of her glass insignia on the door being constantly replaced and smashed down by thugs and villains, as it basically serves as a metaphor that she can’t leave her past super hero days behind her."

I don't think this was answered in the first page but I only skimmed so I wouldn't read any spoilers.

I'm in the middle of the second season of Daredevil and was planning on watching this next. But in the episode I just finished they mentioned Jessica Jones.

Should I watch Jessica Jones now and finish Daredevil after? Does it matter? Are they going to keep referencing this show?

Doesn't really matter. You'll be fine watching the rest of DD and probably never run across another spoiler (at least I don't remember any). I think the only real crossover is Rosario Dawson.

there aren't really any spoilers for Jessica Jones in DD, but there are a couple other small references/cameos besides Rosario, but they are not really significant at all, it would not be a problem at all if you want to finish DD first then watch JJ.

Just watched this through for the first time. Enjoyed it very much.

Wouldn't Joker end up killing himself in that fight?

I was feeling that at times. I think around episode 7 I felt like it was time to wind down and then realized there were still 5 left.

Good season. That said, they lost all momentum about 3/4 of the way through. This was similar to how DD2 and LC had strong starts but lost focus in the second half (though JJ2 wasn't because of a villain change). I also couldn't stand Patsy for the last half.

^I see why anyone could feel that way, but I was bored up until the revelation of who the killer was halfway through and then it got more interesting for me.

The 1st season theme was control, and the 2nd season follows up with addiction. I like how one led to the other for so many of the characters. It absolutely could have been executed better, but I liked the direction the story took.

I would like this season more if they completely removed Trish. I found myself literally fast-forwarding through just about every scene she was involved in. Her character drove me insane. This season was also just too slow to develop for me. I don't hate it but I don't love it.

Trish is distracting because the actress seems like she's always having to try so hard to cover up that Aussie accent

It's really hard to rank these shows but there are clear tiers of quality (in order of release within each tier):

The Great
DD 1
JJ 1
LC 1
Punisher 1

The Good
DD 2
Defenders 1
JJ 2

The Not Good
IF 1

Could do the same for DD2. First half was amazing.

Also, completely agree on Trish. Her character was exhausting in every scene.

To me, JJ2 is the worst season of the current Marvel Defenders. I would have rather watched Iron Fist and the horrid acting from Finn Jones than watch season 2 of JJ. JJ2 bored me to sleep on several occasions.

Was there a story in the actual comics regarding the bad guy in this season?

For some reason I didn't get the feeling I was watching something whose source material was a comic book.

Trish is supposed to become a hero (Hellcat), but I don't know anything about the mom.

So apparently JJ Season 3 came out last month and Netflix just didn't tell anyone.

Anyone watch it?
